Hi :)

I have not received the NOA2 yet, however my fiance received a letter in the Netherlands today from his embassy indicating that his application has been received, and detailed the documents he needed to gather and send to the embassy, or bring to the embassy?? Not sure, he is here in the States on vacation, the letter was relayed to him by a family member back home... But the requested documents included all the items I thought he had to bring to the interview? Criminal report, Affidavit of Support, etc.

Does this mean my NOA2 will be received soon??? I haven't heard anything back since submitting the initial application and am DYING for some news, to say the least lol.

Thanks for your input :)

This is strange indeed. Have you tried checking the status of your USCIS case (I129F that you sent) online by inputting your NoA1 receipt number on their website (www.uscis.gov)? I'd say check there first to see what's up.

Perhaps your NoA2 was lost in the mail, and you've already been approved and are at the consulate stage already?

In either case, Congrats!

Oh wow... ok your case is quite particular! If the Embassy is contacting your fiance, is because it's already been through the NVC and they have your case (as per normal SOPS). Sounds like someone forgot to send NOA2 to you. I would call USCIS immediately! good.gifand ask to speak to a Tier 2 agent. Don't be rude, but be firm on the fact you'd need to speak to one of them right of the bat.

Wow! Yea I will definitely call USCIS tomorrow to get this all straightened out!!

I know I haven't received the notice yet...at least I think??? Every time I check the website (and I check it quite religiously) I get the same "Initial Review" page....Or does the interview include the initial review?

Just one point - you can't really rely on the Case Status online. It can stay on Initial Review for the entire time of your process, because it is not high priority for them to update. The status can show 'Initial Review' until long after you are approved. If your case has progressed to NVC and on to the Embassy, that suggests that it has been approved, sent to the National Visa Centre and they have forwarded it to the Embassy - if you want to clarify this, you should contact NVC or the Embassy and check that this is the case.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
I-129F Sent : Jul 28 2014
TSC received: Aug 04 2014
I-129F NOA1 : Aug 06 2014
I-129F NOA2 : Feb 25 2015 (NOA2 copy rcd: Mar 02)

Sent to NVC: Mar 09 / Left NVC Apr 1 / Arr Embassy Apr 7 / Pkt 3 Rcd Apr 15 / Medical Apr 17 / Pkt 3 sent May 1 / Interview May 12

The online status updates are unreliable and there have been cases where the petitioner did not receive a hard copy of the NOA2. You need to check on it, and ask about being mailed the NOA2. It will be needed for AOS.

Alright, so called USCIS, and it's strange indeed!

At first they just read exactly what the website said, "On April 6th we received.....", and said they didn't have any further information on my case, that it was still "in initial review"....I read to them the letter from his embassy that he received, as his family scanned it to us, which did say "Your approved Fiance(e) visa petition has been received by this office. You must now prepare for you visa application".

After they heard that they said that it appears as if my case has been approved and sent to his consulate.....OK??!!! They said that I should receive a letter within 15 days, if not call back....Kind of worried, doesn't he need my NOA2 for the interview?

At the end they did say to most definitely continue with the embassy, interview and all....Sweet!

No no. He won't need the NOA 2 for the interview, he'll need it for AOS later on (after you get married).. so keep it safe when it arrives because USCIS charges about $500 for a copy of that document.. so you be persistent and make sure they send it to you... BUT don't worry about him, he won't need it at all.

CONGRATULATIONS! kicking.gif
