can USCIS or consulate denied a visa for debts of the beneficiary?

I'm so worried, my wife is from Honduras and she have a few debts, and I'm so worried that the embassy in Honduras could denied her visa CR-1 for the debts that she's still paying!! should i pay all her debts before the interview? someone who has gone through the same Circumstances PLEASE advise me!!!!!

Her debts have no barring on the Visa process. Why would you be worried about that? A beneficiaries debts in fact not even a petitioners unless they owe the government taxes and have not been paying. Rrelax dear its okay.

I dont see the need for you to pay off her debts. Neither do I see the reason why the embassy will ask your wife about her debts in her country. You are the one who is expected to produce evidence of support for her to get that visa. So in other words its your financial status they will be more concerned about not hers.

Her debts should not be an issue, unless they are included in the police record required by the consulate. Even if that were the case, if she's current with her bills, there is no reason to worry.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

is there something special about her debt...? the debt is all in Honduras? pretty sure they don't ask anything about beneficiary's financial situation.

well i heard that some people who have debts and aplly for a tourist visa!! they denied the visa!! but i guess it is because when you aplly for a tourist visa!! they ask for the financial situation to the person who is applying!! but in our case my wife is the beneficiary and i am the one who is applying!!!
