NOA2 approval!! What next questions...

we recieved our NOA2 yesterday and we got approved!!!!

Ive read the guide on here and have one main question.

The guide lists a number of documents that we need to send to the NVC for them to check. Then it lists a very similar list of documents for when I go to the interview. The wording on the guide suggests that I will need two real copies of all of my documents buy I thought the NVC sent everything that they received from us onto our embassy in London before the interview. Which is it?

Also, do we have to use the exact form that are mailed to us from the NVC (ds-230 &i-864 etc) or can we use forms from the internet and send then instead of waiting for them to post them? If yes, when can we mail them in?

Don't wait for the NVC to send you anything. You can download the forms from the web, fill them out, and send them to the NVC along with the required documentation.

July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Don't wait for the NVC to send you anything. You can download the forms from the web, fill them out, and send them to the NVC along with the required documentation.

I do have to wait until the AOS and IV fees have been paid which can only be done when the NVC have received our case and issued a case and IV number, correct?

Correct. You can start calling after a week to see if case received than you get a case# and IIN# hopefully shortly after recievced than once as you say AOS and IV Bill post and you pay them off to the races. Oh yeah the DS-3032 is the first email you will send once you get your case#. So a little waiting sorry. But you sure can have everything ready now AOS packet and IV Bill packe so all you would have to do is wait for the bar-coded coverletter from NVC. Congratulations on your NOA2 though.

Do these two packets (AOS & IV) need to be sent in separately i.e AOS by petitioner IV be beneficiary or can I send the IV packet to my wife with everything needed and then she send one packet with everything in?

I was wondering about this same topic - if you have to have originals of the documents to send to NVC and also originals for the interview at the embassy, does that mean that you need two originals of each document? Or is it assumed that the originals will be at the embassy because NVC sends your case file and all that evidence to them?

My husband filled out his DS-230 at the same time that we did the paperwork for the I-130 so that I can send everything from here once we get the NOA2. But does my affidavit of support have to be sent in separately from his DS-230 or can it all be packaged together? Hopefully one of the experienced folk will chime in here.

And if you want to have the I-864 (AOS) package and IV Bill sent together thats fine just be sure to have the bar-coded cover letter with each one when that time comes.

And you were suppose to send a copy or original and photocopy to NVC so they will return the original at interview. Hope this helps.

That's super helpful, thanks! And yes, we have all those documents together (just waiting on a background check from S. Korea and my IRS transcripts but both have been requested and we've only just received our NOA1 today, so I think we're good). This helps me feel more confident for the next step :thumbs:

no need, you can send separately or together

but they are going to two different department.

So, AOS 1 packet and IV another packet.

make sure both of bills show "PAID" before sending
