Do I call US Embassy to get interview dates or wait for them so contact me? Got my Case number from NVC already.

Hello Everyone!

Just so anxious to get my love here soon. We got our NOA2 July 9. On July 23rd I called NVC, they gave me my case number and to call the Embassy after a few days. We already paid the Visa fee, but when we called the US Embassy to set up appt. they said to wait for a letter. Is this the case for everyone? I just saw some timeline here where they were able to get the appointment set up a few days after they got the NVC received status. Any help anynone please?

No. You don't have to wait for the letter. You have to give them you case number which should be MNL###### and also your reciept number from where you paid the fee at BPI. Then schedule the appt.

Either the you can do it or your fiance can. I did it for my fiance.

The agent from USEM told me the same everytime i call them!!! You have to proceed to the next step.. set your interview appointment online..

Since you already have your case number, you can already pay your visa fee at BPI. Then wait at least 4 hours for your payment to be in the system (we waited 24 hours)... then you may already set your appointment online. For sure don't sit around waiting for a letter from the embassy, grab your passport and pesos and head to BPI...

Then give then a day to get it updated at the embassy and you can schedule your interview online. (they say 4 hours after payment but that seems a rarity)

Manila Embassy:

After NOA2 AND YOU HAVE YOUR MNL # (don't need to wait for the letter from the embassy )

Once you have your MNL # you can take your passport and required visa fee (in Php) to BPI and pay your visa fee. The embassy website states that within 4 hours of paying at BPI you can schedule your interview appointment but most times it seems to take about 24 hours.

When scheduling online with the embassy you need to include the "XX" at the beginning of the passport number, your passport number IS your receipt number (normally).

Priorty Date; this is the date the NOA 1 was accepted.

Make sure to print two copies of the interview confirmation page as you will need one for St. Luke's and the other (maybe, they might mail the interview letter) for the embassy.

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent.

Art. 14. In case either or both of the contracting parties, not having been emancipated by a previous marriage, are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one, they shall, in addition to the requirements of the preceding articles, exhibit to the local civil registrar, the consent to their marriage of their father, mother, surviving parent or guardian, or persons having legal charge of them, in the order mentioned. Such consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the proper local civil registrar, or in the form of an affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and attested before any official authorized by law to administer oaths. The personal manifestation shall be recorded in both applications for marriage license, and the affidavit, if one is executed instead, shall be attached to said applications. (61a)

Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement.
