Medical Interview

Just a quick post to say that I had my medical yesterday with Dr. Chau in Saskatoon. Very nice man. Very personable. No surprises, very quick exam. Very seriously looked in my face and asked me many questions. Asked about my job, where I was moving, etc. Cost $125.00 X-ray was $50.00, Blood Work nothing since he didn't put that I was a US Visa applicant on the form! The lady at the lab said he often does that for people to help offset the cost. Thought this was very nice.

Got my xray, no waiting at all. Then off for my blood work. Have an appointment in a few weeks to pick up everything and give him the x-ray I have.

I should have told you to get your xray and blood work in advance at your doctor and take it with you. You could have had your medical the same day to save another appt.

He was pretty nice but the secretary does not want to give you a copy of your vaccination form so be warned!

That's okay cristy! I do remember you posting something after your medical about them not wanting to give you something. Maybe I can ask you? Do they seal up everything in an envelope and you can't get at it? Did you do anything to get that vaccination record anyway? I take it I bring the medical package to the interview. Do they take it from me then? If they open it at the Consulate, can I not ask them to copy it for me?

Sorry for so many questions! Just want to avoid any future hassels. Thanks!

It is sealed. They staple the xray to it so you have to take it to Vancouver but Vancouver does not want it. Weird.

I called and had them fax me the vaccination thing after I moved. I did ask before but she totally ignored me. I never thought to ask Vancouver, you could try, they are really nice.

Best of luck with your interview!

Definately try to get the copy of the vaccination records from the doctor so you are not trying to get it once you have moved down to the US and applying for AOS ...

ok, I am clearly losing my mind with this process.

Just picked up my medical stuff and xray. Of course, I whipped out the xray in the office and had people looking at it. We were trying to figure out why I have an extra, seemingly detached piece of lung at the bottom. It looks wrong!!

I just spent 15 minutes looking up chest xray examples on the net, and emailed my doctor brother-in-law with my self-diagnosis. I want to tear open the envelope and see if I am healthy or not! It kinda irks me that they won't tell me anything.

now I have chest pain.

 As a notorious hypochondriac, I must make a note to myself to NOT look at the xray.
