Really? Aww. Okay thank you for letting me know. :(

This has been known to happen and is true, but it is not 100%. Some people still get approved using cosponsors in Manila. Being a student is one example to consider. Parents or immediate family members are generally viewed as more reliable cosponsors so this is a consideration as well. Some even have a cosponsor fill out I-864 along with I-134 because I-864 is legally binding, will be used at the AOS stage, and it can show the seriousness of the commitment. If you do some searches here, you will find mixed results so if you need a cosponsor, look into what others have done with success in Manila.

 In addition to the advice you are getting already, welcome fellow Philippines member!

The petition fee is $340 as listed on I-129F instructions.

As I understand it the fee is $240usd since they reduced the fees lately.

What fees are involved in obtaining a K visa?

There is a US$240 non-refundable application/processing fee for each K visa applicant. This fee is payable in U.S. dollars or its current peso equivalent. There are three ways to pay the K visa application fee: cash payment at any Bank of the Philippine Island (BPI) branch; online payment bill option provided by BPI to their clients; or online payment through Bancnet. For more details regarding K visa payment options, please visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph and click Bank and Payment Options.

The required medical examination costs are US$213.35 for adults (15 years and older) and US$185.35 for children (under 15 years of age).

You are referring to the visa application fee which is separate. Yes, it is $240. The I-129F PETITION FEE is $340. This petition must be sent before one can apply for the visa.

hello, thank you for welcoming me as a fellow Philippine member. I was wondering, I am here at the US right now and I will be applying for the visa soon. About being financially okay, will any job suffice or does it have to be a high paying job?

The beneficiary doesn't need to worry about a job. If you are the petitioner, this only applies to you. The petitioner must be making 125% of the poverty level found on form I-864P for household size. This means, if the petitioner and beneficiary are the only dependents, that would be 125% for 2. It does not matter what kind of job you have as long as you can meet this annualized requirement. Pay stubs and employment letter can usually verify this. The Philippines also specifies that they want the last tax return (1040) or transcript. Tax returns can also verify continuous and stable income. However, the requirement will be your CURRENT or PRESENT income. No matter the job (as long as it is legal), you only need to show that you make enough to satisfy the requirement at the present time of the interview.
