Hello everyone,

I have a question about Reading/Writing Test : Is that usually the officer give us a sheet with the reading question which we will read it to them , and writing answer which they ask us to write or the answer is already in that paper and we just re-write it?

thank you very much

I was given one sheet of paper with three sentences on it and asked to read the second one "Which state has the highest population?". Once read he took that sheet away and gave me another sheet with three empty boxes on it and he verbally asked me to write "Washington is the father of our country." in empty box 2. I had nothing to copy. I just had to write what he said to me. He took the paper. Check it, wrote something on it and that was it.

and speaking is tested by your oral answers to the questions. sometimes depending on your level of education, yu may not go through all that. for exmaple, someone with a bachelors degree, u cant ask him to write for example. " i went on holidays to new york last year"

I warmly recommend to check the study tools (flashcards, etc.)on the USCIS website. All 100 civics questions are there too. There should be a list of words as well. Every sentence that you get is a combination of those words. Honestly, I do not think that the level of education plays a significant role. I mean, if they ask a native English speaker from GB to read "Which state has the highest population?"...it cannot be that hard. :) However, there is certain standard that everybody has to achieve.

Today I am in a mood of replying.

N-400 base on marriage. The IO will ask everything. Prepare. Prepare.

Collect evident that says your relationships is lasting, bonding.

Tax transcript, life insurance policy, car insurance, rent, ...anything with both name.

If you have traffic tickets, collect evident/proof that all are taken care of.

Don't give any answer without asking.

Good luck.

If I apply N400 base on marriage , during the interview the IO will only ask about the civil questions or they will ask about my spouse and our relationship too ?

Hello and how are you?

I know we didn't file the same month as me but I have been reading your posts for a while.

Have you done your interview? What was your experience?

I'm doing great, sent my N-400 finally 3 days ago!

It took me quite a long time to apply, almost a year after I actually could, so I've been exploring a lot, preparing, and was reading about other people's experiences. Today I went to the driver's license place and got my driving record (which is immaculate BTW) juuuuust in case.

I'm certainly going to share my experience after the interview and I hope to read about yours too!

ALL question for the reading and writing test HERE

10 cards. You have to read the question from first page, your answer has to be from the second page, and you will write on the third page. Enjoy :)

Incorrect. The N400 doesn't ask any questions about your education level, and all apps are judged from the same set of questions, unless you have some conditions for a waiver. I'm british, and a graduate, and got asked to read, write and answer all the civics questions.
