Why did I receive this letter

So I have my oath ceremony tomorrow. Today in the mail I get a voter registration form from the department of transitional services.

It says I applied or receive public assistance and because of state law they have to help me register to vote if I want to.

Here's the thing though I never applied for public assistance since I know you can't until you achieve citizenship and I am not a citizen until hopefully tomorrow after my oath.

I did apply for SSI for my daughter back at the end of May. She is 2 and is a US citizen. I just found out her application has been approved and so she has been receiving SSI payment from June 1 onwards. This is the only reason why I can think of that the department of transitional services would have my name, however the SSI is in my daughter's name and I only did the application because she is a minor. I assumed since she is a US citizen and disabled then my citizenship at the time shouldn't matter. My daughter and husband are also on state medicare and have been for the past year. This is the only state assistance we currently receive since even though our income is low enough to qualify for $250 in food stamps since I am not counted as a person we don't qualify.

I am just hoping that this letter won't affect my citizenship application. I never claimed to be a US citizen and never applied for public assistance for myself.

Could this just be the "system" being super efficient. They know you have your oath tomorrow and are ensuring you have your voter registration forms to hand already ?

Ignore it.

You have to be a citizen to be able to vote, and you are NOT a citizen untill you take the oath and get your certificate.

voting before being a citizen is a big deal and causes alot of issues. ignore.
