Congrats on the recent approvals and fast moving paperwork everyone! Remember, when it's time for your fiance's medical interviews - all answers to any drug questions is NO!!! Never tried anything, never did anything - never did, never will. Do not let them coax you into any admission of trying any drugs, just don't even go there or you will receive a 3 year ban. At your medical the nurse will ask you if you have every tried drugs, or even experimented, the answer is NO. If you get sent to the psychiatrist on your first medical exam this is not a good sign. Please prep your fiances before going to the medical so you don't get banned like we did - here we are 3 years later still waiting so save yourselves an immense amount of heartache and trouble and make sure you have the discussion with your fiance's before the medical.

I know this is not something you guys are thinking about at this point but TRY to get a copy of your physical to carry with you from Juarez. The ONE Civil surgeon withing hours of here is making Roberto pay again for another physical. They insist that they will not fill out his records for AOS unless he has it redone. I have seen several forums on VJ that talk about the Civil Surgeons so it is not uncommon for them to ask that you do it again even though USCIS does not require two physicals. It is costing us another $300.00 and two days of tests and shots.

Isi,

We are here in Juarez still and have yet to do the medical or the physical. We went today at 6:00 a.m. to get our invitation letter and he didn’t walk out of there until 11:30, so we were unable to do our medical today. This really screwed with our plans, but its fine we have the letter and tomorrow we will do the medical.

Genny,

Do you really think they will give us a copy? I will tell him to ask tomorrow if he can get one. Thanks for the advice.

Ernesto,

Are you guys still here? Did you guys get the visa? Let me know how things are going.

important question!

my fiance had his k-1 interview today and he is eligible for the waiver.... BUT they didn't keep my I-134 form! they kept my letter from the bank and my 3 yr. tax transcripts but not my form. ???? i did have 3 additional cosponsors and the consulate kept all of their forms and supporting documents. should i be worried that they didn't keep my form but kept my supporting documents? it just doesn't make much sense to me :\

Why a "waiver" for a K-1? Is this for an entering without inspection? I've never heard of a waiver for a K-1 before?

Brianna: You can probably go back to give them the form. When we had our first interview, they had kept my original divorce decree which I needed for my files - I sent my fiance back to get it and they gave it to him so you can probably go turn the paper in.

He just entered the consulate at 7:41 and now there is nothing I can do but pray and wait.

Janet,

I think it is for entering without inspection? Do you know when you will be coming to Juarez?

Brianna,

Since you are using a cosponsor they don't really look at your information. I know I have read here in the past that they didn't even look at the SOs support documents because they used a cosposor. I guess they just relied on the cosponsor... but if you don't feel comfortable I would use Janets advice.

He went in at 7:41 and out at 10:30. They only asked for two copies of the DS-156 and Birth Certificate and one copy of the DS-156K, and CDJ-402. They didn't ask to see any other documents not even the I-134. They only asked him six questions and he said the nice man skimmed through the Petition I sent in and then said congratulations your visa has been approved.

OH CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WONDERFUL NEWS!!!! I HOPE OUR INTERVIEW IS AS EASY, I HAVE BEEN PRAYING ABOUT IT! I can call for our new appt on January 2nd so I don't know when our interview will be, I would imagine not long after that, I have heard from others that it is not long after that so I just hope and pray it isn't too much longer after I make the phonecall, this wait has been grueling!
