Proof of intention to establish residency

Someone mentioned to me that it would be a good idea to provide proof of intent to establish residency for our immigration process. I was told it would be good to have letters of promised employment, rental agreement with our names and bills with our intended address. Is this really necessary and would they want these provided at the interview? I didn't see this request on any of the lists. Can anyone please offer some insight on this? Thanks

Since you currently live abroad, you will need to show proof that you have maintained or are in the process of reestablishing a US domicile.

What visa process are you going through? That would be extremely helpful to answer your question specifically. For example, how are you going to have a bill at your intended address if you are not here yet to have a bill or check your mail??

Sorry, I just saw your timeline. Underneath your name on your post you have a N/A for filed for, so I assumed that you had not even done a timeline. I concur with Ryan H. Did you have a co-sponsor for your affidavit of support?

We filed an IR-1/CR-1 Visa. We have been living abroad for a year and a half now. We are about to submit our documents for the DS-230 and our AOS as well. We do have a co sponsor that is mailing their documents to us now since currently I'm not working.

My mother has rented a home that she will be sharing with us for a while but our names have not been added to the lease yet. She is trying to contact the landlord to see if our names can be added now so she can send us a copy of the lease agreement.

I am receiving mail at that address one of them a utility bill ( some of them have my previous married name, not sure if that makes a difference or not).

I also have a letter from my employer stating that I will have employment upon our return to the U.S.

If we can't get a copy of the lease, would copies of my bills and employment letter be enough?

We would also register my stepson for school but they don't usually start registration until sometime in August.
