I am very grateful when introduce to this site because i started learning from many of your experience and hoping to enjoy and get a lot of advice and many useful resource to lead me to a succesful journey. I should have known earlier before submiting my application to uscis but anyway with your help i hope nothing is too late. My question is how long should i be expecting my application to get approve since am a March filer and secondly my worry again is i met my fiance back in 2009 june and never been able to go but we do chat on skype and make phone calls, have pictures and receipts of my trip to visit her. Looking at my case will i have to prove more since am not been able to go back and visit her. Do you think i should try giving her invitation to visit me? Thanks to you all and my respect to all of you here.

I think you will be denied since you didn't meet within 2 years of filling the petition.

First of all, welcome to VJ

Regarding the wait time till your approval, based on the speed of VSC (Vermont Service Center) you should expect your NOA2 (approval notice) within 6-7 months, if everything goes normal. And by normal, I mean that since you haven't seen each other for the last 3 years, as others mentioned, your application does not meet the "met each other within the last 2 year" requirement. Therefore, you will probably get an RFE (Request For Evidence) for showing proof that you have met each other, and since you have not, sorry to say, I don't think that you will get an approval. One thing you can do though, is to explain them the reason that you have not met each other. The only reason that they accept, is having an obligation because of your religions.

Thanks to your replies guys and i do appreciate your thoughts. At first i used to count the two years period within like say, from 2009 june to 2011 june which is the two years period b4 i submitted my application. I was sure that since i file in march then my third yr counting will be in june 2012, but i submitted my application b4 the third year. Anyway do u think if i travel now will that still save for the purpose?. Thanks

If you travel now, it wouldn't help your existing petition, no. If your last meeting was in June 2009, you would have had to file a petition by May 2011 to have it be within the two year timeframe. To save yourself a headache, it would be best to withdraw your current petition -- contact USCIS and send a letter. Then, travel to meet with your fiancé, ensuring to gather plenty of proof (passport stamps, receipts, cards, photos, etc.) before resubmitting.

Yes, all of these answers are correct and good advice. Better to get it done the first time without any doubt in your head. makes the wait easier knowing you got a sold case. GOOD LUCK
