Sydney requesting another police certificate

Good morning VJers,

I've just received my visa interview email from Sydney (and previously had an RFE regarding this), that states that the original Australian police certificate is present, but that Australian police cert NSW/QLD is not present. I'm a little confused by this as a) I've never lived in NSW or QLD, and b) the certificate that I provided from Victoria is Federal, no?

This is the second post I've read in 10mins where people are having trouble over police checks (see here for the other thread).

Australian police checks, as far as I am aware are NATIONAL (ie cover ALL of Australia) no matter which state you get them done in. Although, there does seem to be some confusion created thanks to the US Embassy Canberra website which says you have to get checks from all the 'local authorities' in each place you have lived for more than 6mths since turning 16.

So did you actually get an RFE for it?

They did email me saying that it was missing, but that the case would still be completed and forwarded to Sydney where they would address it directly. I've lived in the ACT, but never NSW or QLD. I suppose I will try to contact the consulate directly on Monday, was just hoping someone else had some knowledge of this. Thanks for the link to the other thread

I received the same when I did mine. Missing Police Cert ... it wasn't but they told me they would complete the case, forward it to Sydney and to have a copy of my PCC for the interview. I had a copy of it but they had it in my file at the interview and never asked for it.

You could always track your file and email the Consulate about it once they receive it. Best of luck ...
