Hmm never heard of a yellow paper, but we got a white paper for AP to bring back our after we were married evidence, and they didn't take his passport at that time also. So sounds good too me. They are probably doing some kind of check. Hopefully on the paper he got it will say what kind of check he got.

Ok so I called him again and interrogated him :P It appears to me that we were approved.

So apparently he was #2 in line. He interviewed first with an arabic guy who he said was a jerk. The guy asked him:

What is her name?

Where does she live?

How did you meet?

When did she come to Jordan?

When did she leave Jordan?

When did you get engaged?

Where do you live?

Where do you work?

He was then asked to sit down after verifying some information and to wait. He was then called to another window by an American lady who he said was extremely nice and very helpful.

She told him that she assumed his english was good and she would conduct the interview in english but if he had any trouble understanding anything that she also spoke fluent arabic and would be happy to explain more to him.

The first thing she asked was:

What do you plan to do with JP :P when you get to America? He said I plan on marrying her and starting our family.

How did you meet?

When did she come?

Why didnt you get married? 1 year is a long time for an engagement. He responded and said that we tried but the church refused. She then said ohh yes I read that in your letters of intent and apologized for asking the question again.

She then asked to see pictures and asked who everyone was in the photos. She asked about the priest, who he was and how we knew him.

She asked him if he had any immediate family in the USA

She asked him what he planned to do for our wedding in the USA, he said we were getting married in a church and then a reception after.

She then said who are going to be the guests? He said mostly from her side, her parents, family friends.

She said are your parents going to be there? He laughed and said if you give them a visa, she laughed and made some notes in the computer.

After that she said ok Mr. JP :P you paperwork really looks very good and you are qualified to recieve a visa. We will need to do some additional processing and this paper says 4-6 weeks but it never takes that long and in cases like yours its about 2 weeks. (thats when she crossed it out) She also reminded him that he should count the holidays because Eid is right around the corner. She said I'm not going to take your passport right now incase you need to use it. Then she stapled a card with a number on it in his passport and said to send it to her attention via aramex when he gets the call from the embassy.

Then he asked so Did I get the visa? She said everything is fine and you will have the visa after we finish processing. Congratuluations Sir, I hope you and your fiance have a wonderlife and beautiful children together.

Sounds to me like he got it.....

He was out of there by 10am, and in hindsight he said if he ever interviewed again he would want it to be with the same lady because she was so nice, helpful, and patient.

Yayyyyy I'm so happy for you guys!

My guess is that the yellow paper is the 221g, but until you actually see it you won't know. Have your honey scan and e-mail it so you can see yourself.

Sounds like the standard stuff for an male from the Middle East, and it sounds as if it will be over with quickly. My first instinct is to congratulate you...But I understand you pessimism...

I have never heard of a 221g on a small yellow slip inside the passport, I don't think it's that. I think it has something to do with a check into the paperwork or something... either way you guys are good to go!

I called the DOS and they asked me if he was divorced, I said no, I was divorced. He said they were verifying that and everything looks ok. He said to call back tomorrow when there is more info.

Here is the sucky part. Tomorrow is Friday, the embassy is closed. Its also closed on the weekend and then Eid will start. So I don't think I will know anything until Eid is over.

Did I miss something? I don't see where it says it was on a small yellow slip inside the passport. Maybe I didn't read the thread good enough.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'
