You should wait until it has been 6 months before contacting them, they will not be able to do anything until 6 months has passed. USCIS will not raise a service request until 6 months has passed. The chances are you will be approved before you reach 6 months, so unfortunately contacting them won't do anything.

They are even refusing requests after the 6 months mark!!! RIDICULOUS!!!!

Their system has gone totally wrong and they should do something about it!!! They cannot just deny what has been officially stated on their own website. At least change it, damn it!

That's misleading and simply a lie....

As soon as you hit the 6 months mark contact your local congressman and ask them to do an expedite. That is what we did and curiously we were approved 2 days after... It might be just a coincidence but you have nothing to lose by doing it ! :)

The USCIS says the estimated processing time is 5 months. It is an estimation and is not exact. Your timeline says you have been waiting 5 months and 7 days. Be patient. When you get to 6 months you can contact your senator/local representative.

I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say they are "refusing requests after 6 months"?

Wait the 6 months..Then try to expedite through your local representative (either Congressman or Senator). Service requests are basically useless. At the rate VSC is working, you have no other option other than to wait the 6 months at this point. 187 days here and hoping now with a little help it will be over..(although it might have just been time for approval anyway). Don't pay any attention to the 5 months processing time listed for VSC right now. They are 1 month behind... 6 months is the new 5 months...I guess they just haven't made an official effort to convey that...

When I applied in 2008 you had to wait 6 months before contacting a senator/local representative, that hasn't changed.

Hopefully you will get a decision soon, good luck!

Well, I am an April 5th filer. So I feel at the rate we are currently VSC is going our petition will not be approved until late October. Oh Well..I guess the good part about it is that i will be in kenya in October. Maybe if we are lucky we will be approved while I am there visiting & we can fly back to the States together. God Willing. Amen!!! I pray that all of you will be united with your loved ones soon especially the January & February filers. I know this is hard on you but keep your head up & your time will come so swift & quickly & you will look back on all of this & just laugh. God Bless You All!!!

Thanks guys. I know it has been only 5 months and apx 2 weeks, but it's just so nerve wracking..

I guess just too many thing went wrong for me lately. And I miss my boy so much :(

I still think it's unfair that CSC is approving April filers while you guys still haven't been touched. Just not right.

It's a very hard wait...I never thought I'd be getting so close to the 200s before approval...If I don't receive approval this week I will be into the 200s...It's very depressing.

islandgal, you're right.. it's not fair that there is such a huge difference between the two centers.. In this cases they should just transfer cases from one to another.. It's not so hard to get these thing through and done with.

Ridiculous.. 168 days for us :(
