the first month was the worse for us. We was checking 3 times a day, which makes no sense since we were so early in the process. At that time VSC was going at a faster pace than now and the average was 4 months. My fiance and I have decided to make no plans until May (5 months). I forgot about the USCIS website until May because it was any day now. However, VSC began to slow down and our timeline was pushed down further and further. I checked so many times during May that I finally gave up. 5 months came and nothing. We put in a service request and wait. One day, I was really busy with work and I did not have to check my cellphone but I heard a text message alert. For some weird reason, I put down what I was doing and check my cell. It was a text from 3454 something and there it was...case EAC..... status has changed. Finally after 173 days we got approved. This process is so frustrating but in the end is worth it.

ConGraTs to your approval :)

I find value in this thread. (F)

Thank you! I started it to give everyone a place to come together to share in the excitement/anxiousness of waiting. I'm only 2 months into this and I check often! I just want it to be here. I know it won't speed up the process but it helps me in some crazy form! I'm so happy for everyone. Soon our loved ones will be with us and we'll look at this and be like "Well, gosh that wasn't bad at all" but right now we're all just going crazy waiting for it! :) Thanks for sharing your stories everyone. Keep them coming!

I remember I used to check the USCIS website every day the first 2 months (I don't know why!) but I stopped checking it so I wouldn't drive myself crazy. I tried to come to terms that they would simply email me when my case had been approved, and that's exactly what happened. I remember that I resolved to STOP checking the website and to STOP checking VJ, then a few days later the approval came into my inbox when I was least expecting it! Try not to drive yourselves crazy. :)

Dont apologize, AmberLynn... the only person this Negative Nancy has to blame is himself for being so negative. We're all here to feel like we're in the boat together and we're not alone in our obsessions to know what the heck's going on with our visa petitions. I personally feel like this is a great thread, and I'm so thankful to know that even though I'm stressed about the more than 5 months time that's already passed since our NOA1, that there are other people out there who are going through the same thing. Way to go!!!
