my husband will request a ITIN for me but honestly we don't know which is right to do the only requirements that i have is my passport,, what i would like to know is that does anyone of you know if they gonna accept my passport photocopy with a red ribbon authentication from DFA? i wish someone can share their opinions or ideas with us,, we need to send them asap..thanks

to the OP -

it's not enough that you supply the passport copy thingie -

YOU must sign a W-7 application

and

BOTH of you must sign a tax return

and

the TWO of you must submit a letter with 'the packet' stating that THE TWO OF YOU elect for YOU to be considered a resident alien for tax purposes.

Do all of that? Send all into the special W-7/ITIN intake address in Austin, TX?

You'll get an ITIN.
