USCIS investigates before your NOA2, and the US Embassy after they receive it, I think it depends on the package they receive from USCIS.

JAJAJAJAJA!!! You girls are hilarious!!! La Negra I think they do it before because if you think about it, That what they are doing now, So once NOA2 is approval is because that mean that the inspector gadgets are done looking for what they where looking for. Pero es como te digo se ven caso donde during the waiting period they will go to the home town of the person with pictures asking question if they feel something fishy! lol

An immigration officer went by asking questions about my husband this week (according to his neighbors) and I haven't even officially received my NOA2. I mean, I should any day now....but I have heard about this sort of thing happening all the time in DR.

Chastity, That doesn't sound right at all. I'm almost 100% sure that the consulate doesn't know that you petitioned for your husband..especially..I will say to tell your husband to be careful. One of our neighbors in our house in DR got married just for papers (wife knew of this, she got paid) and their interview was denied. When they appealed it, the immigration officer went to the house and asked around to see if the marriage was valid. Even though it wasn't, all his neighbors said that they knew his wife, just because they all liked him.

BUT then again, who knows, some many stories, don't know which to believe. Nothing matters until the day of the interview. I'm sure you guys will be more than ready for that day!

My friend had a simpler story like the one Sanchez525 mention only different is that they where married because they where actually couple... So she says here the thing, she paid an atty. to file for papers for her so on and so far, her interview was last Oct 2011 she want on the interview so she says they where "approved" almost a year and her husband is still not here. I believe reading a 221(g) that they sent her, weeks later someone from "immigration" want asking around about her husband and his relationship he has with her, up to date her husband is still not here, she claims that the embassy sent him to go and get the medical done, all over again, Supposedly he was expected to be here the first wk of July... I don't know..... "if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck".

I'll be careful but in these type of situation its not in your control, cause you just NEVER know what the "neighbors" will say, especially when it involve someone that has the chances of leaving the country.

It is really sad, I just leave it to God to take control of the whole situation, I in MY opinion can't image that an immigration officer can give you a denial due to the feedback they receive from people around town. I believe it's up to you to prove to them the legitimate of the relationship.
