Green Card received today. I guess I wont be frequenting the mailbox that often anymore :-)

Thank you. Not sure if its important at this point - but I mailed it out in late June.

For people who have gotten their green cards, what has been the approximate time between approval/production ordered and green card arrival? Thanks!

my approval date was 2/28/13. Production date 3/1/13, mailed 3/4/13, and received 3/7/13

Hello! I'm a long time VJ visitor (aka lurker) and first time poster. Anxious VSC folks -- we were VSC filers and got our approval today!!!! Interestingly enough, we have never been interviewed as a couple - there was no interview during either the adjustment of status or removal of conditions. Also, we were able to travel internationally with with no issues returning to the US with my wife's expired green card and the extension letter from USCIS. Thank you everyone at VJ and these forums. Seven months of checking USCIS website for updates and nothing. Then today I decided to call them and inquire about the status of our case. After about 20 minutes the cunstomer service rep I was more frustrated than before I called. Then a couple of hours later I get an email elert saying my case status has changed and to log into USCIS to check the status. Low and behold APPROVED !!! Card production has been ordered. My lao po will be thrilled that she will recieve her 10 yr card soon. Now on to Citizenship. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting. Just hang in there, the day will come when your posting your approval.

I'm sorry it took me so long to reply. Long commute home. I called 1-800-375-5283. You have to select 1-2-1-1-1 then when prompted, enter your receipt number. You will get a live person then. I told the customer rep. how long we had been waiting for a response from USCIS (7 mo). I asked her that if my wife's 2 yr card is expired then she is out of status. She asked me if we received a letter extending the expiration date by one yr. I told her that we did not. She then told me that if my wife wanted to travel out of the country she could use the NOA 2 letter that we received in August of 2012. I hope this helps. Good luck to everyone.

You can also call and have them resend that 797 extension authorization letter. We did and received one in about three weeks.

Just got an RFE today in the mail. Dated March 1st. we don't use a joint bank account anymore since I lost my job, but we did just have a beautiful baby boy on the tenth. I think I may call them to find out exactly what they want... I don't want this messed up, we need that card asap!

I don't know if this will help but throughout the day, I constantly check our status online. Somehow, I think and hope, that if I check it enough times a day, a miraculous email alert goes to the VSC to pull up our file quicker. LOL. Like the NFL commercial says, "it's only weird if it doesn't work"

Copy of baby's birth certificate is a great evidence. Also explain why you don't have joint bank accounts - all the best.
