I wonder how the approvals are going for the few months before us. It has been a month since my DH got his approval so hopefully things are moving on their way.

Hello Everyone,

I had been away from this forum for a few months. Last year my wife and I were traveling back home because her mom was sick with dengue fever so we totally forgot about the extension and ended up filing 5 days late. We sent a letter explaining the reasons for our late filing, and my wife got her 1 year extension letter 2 weeks later. I'm not sure if that means there won't be problems because we filed late but I hope that is the case :unsure:

She did her biometrics and now we are waiting. Our NOA letter says they got the application July 9th (her green card expired July 5th).

Reading these forums it seems July people have not yet received their responses, so I continue to wait. BTW, we live in California so we filed to CSC.

Now we are planning to go see her parents again. One immigration officer told us over the phone that she could travel with the expired greencard and the letter alone, while another one told us she has to get a stamp on her passport. I guess we will play it safe and go get the stamp.

If there is anyone here with similar experience or comments we would love to get your feedback.

I for one don't know anything about a stamp but we've traveled a few times and all we needed is the letter. On our last trip from Canada to the states, the immigration gave us hell because I had a copy of the letter, not the actual. He proceeded to deride us further by saying "you wouldn't bring in a photocopy of your green card would you?" Fortunately, he wasn't able to understand the vulgarities I said to him in a language he couldn't understand LOL

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On January 18, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Going out tonight to celebrate!!!!

Same here, I've traveled twice since renewing my green card (CA and Germany) and both times they gave me a hard time because I carried a copy - I don't see the big deal. If they look up the A# they'll see that I applied.

Anyway, keep the original with you for travels. Saves you time and a lot of nerve for all parties involved.

Nothing yet on our case :whistle: CSC upped their processing times to about 6.4 months for ROC applications - we'll see...
