AOS approval or denial

Hi

I would like to know if once we send the AOS and the fee, NVC sends it to the consulate in your country or they are the ones who notifies you if you need a co sponsor or joint sponsor (not sure)

I am very lost in this process.

Also would like to ask this: my husband paid the 88.00 online 2 days ago and yesterday it said PAID already instead of IN PROCESS, do they send my husband an email with the next steps?

Please read the link the member provided above. It is VERY helpful.

You can determine if you need a joint sponsor yourself by calculating if your earnings alone are above the 125% poverty guidelines. If you do not meet the guidelines, then you will need a sponsor.

After the payment portal shows AOS as "PAID" you are free to send the AOS packet at any time. NVC does not tell you to do so, do not wait for them or you will be waiting forever.

NVC can disapprove an affidavit of support but the final decision on the public charge concern for which the affidavit is submitted, is made by a Consular officer.
