changing last name

hi, me and my wife got married almost a year ago and are now in the nvc stage of the cr-1 process and back when we got married we did not change her last name because we are in kuwait and thought it would be a big hassel. But now that everything has calmed down with paperwork and work she wants to change her last name to mine. The passport part and everything seems easy enough from here in kuwait at the philippine embassy but its the us visa part that worries me. Are we abke to change her last name this far into her cr-1 process?

We had the IO changer her name for the green card at our interview, no issues.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

I changed my name at the NVC stage too.

I sent a letter with my IV package asking for my name to be changed. Done with no problems :)

USCIS

30 Nov 2010 - Sent I-130 to Chicago

1 Dec 2010 - I-130 received at Chicago

18 Apr 2011 - APPROVED!! NOA2 text and email

NVC

29 Apr 2011 - Case entered into the system/Case number assigned; Medical Exam in Sydney

30 Apr 2011 - Police Check Application sent

2 May 2011 - Called NVC and got Invoice ID number

3 May 2011 - Sent DS-3032 email

4 May 2011 - Received email reply from NVC for DS-3032; Received Medical Exam results

5 May 2011 - AOS invoiced and paid

7 May 2011 - AOS package sent; IV invoiced and paid

9 May 2011 - AOS package delivered to NVC according to tracking

20 May 2011 - RFE for missing IV package....still waiting on Police Certificate!

24 May 2011 - Received Police Certificate after 25 days (so much for 7-10!); IV package sent

27 May 2011 - IV package delivered according to tracking

8 Jun 2011 - RFE for original marriage certificate; requested supervisor review since we KNOW it was in the package!

30 Jun 2011 - SIF and CC - FINALLY!!!!

13 Jul 2011 - Interview date assigned! Scheduled for August 9th @ 10am

9 Aug 2011 - Interview - APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12 Aug 2011 - Visa in hand

24 Aug 2011 - POE @ LAX

it's maybe an off topic but I applied CR-1 with my husband's last name and my last name as middle name. My last name never has changed legally though.

Married May 2011

10/07/2011: NOA1

12/15/2011: NOA2

01/12/2012: NVC case number arrived

01/13/2012: DS-3032 emailed

01/27/2012: Barcode arrived via e-mail

03/06/2012: I-864&DS-230 sent together

03/13/2012: RFE

04/16/2012: Additional documents sent

05/02/2012: NVC case complete

05/14/2012: Medical

06/04/2012: Interview--->approved

06/05/2012: Visa arrived in mail

Sent this b4 but here it is again...

Submitted I130 Married name

+++ USCIS paperwork in married name

NVC submitted passport with Maiden Name

+++ USCIS paperwork changed to maiden name

St Lukes submitted new passport w/Married name

+++ USCIS paperwork changed to married name

Cr1 visa, ssn and green card issued in married name.
