Those are not Visas. They are petitions to apply for a visa at the US embassy.

You Petition at a service center to be allowed to apply for a visa at the US embassy.

You do not apply for the visa at the service center.

We aren't talking about visas being approved. We are talking about I-129Fs being completed by VSC.

The data shows the following:

1786 I-129F apps were received July, 2011 by Vermont Service Center, but only 116 VJers recorded sending I-129F to Vermont.

1993 I-129F apps were received August, 2011 by Vermont Service Center, but only 128 VJers recorded sending I-129F to Vermont.

1733 I-129F apps were received September, 2011 by Vermont Service Center, but only 112 VJers recorded sending I-129F to Vermont.

1831 I-129F apps were received October, 2011 by Vermont Service Center, but only 107 VJers recorded sending I-129F to Vermont.

1809 I-129F apps were received November, 2011 by Vermont Service Center, but only 100 VJers recorded sending I-129F to Vermont.

1601 I-129F apps were received December, 2011 by Vermont Service Center, but only 115 VJers recorded sending I-129F to Vermont.

1784 I-129F apps were received January, 2012 by Vermont Service Center, but only 124 VJers recorded sending I-129F to Vermont.

2149 I-129F apps were received February, 2012 by Vermont Service Center, but only 126 VJers recorded sending I-129F to Vermont.

2295 I-129F apps were received March, 2012 by Vermont Service Center, but only 94 VJers recorded sending I-129F to Vermont.

2006 I-129F apps were received April, 2012 by Vermont Service Center, but only 84 VJers recorded sending I-129F to Vermont.

Average sample is about 6% of the population, showing actually that it is a good sample probably.

Here is the link to the raw data: http://dashboard.uscis.gov/csvfiles/I-129-F_Vermont-Service-Center_Trend-Chart.csv

Try to open it with excel. Minitab doesn't open it properly for some reason.

It looks like you figured out where I obtained this estimate from. I took into account a little more in depth about the average month having only 22 processing days. The VSC having 2006 applicaitons and 84 on here... that is roughly 4%. Maybe they receive 92 petitions a day (I can say 91.2 but reality is the number has to be an integer) so we see maybe 4 or 5 filers to fall on the same day in the time line section of this site. So, both calculations are showing the same thing. There are some users on here without timelines. But only 3-5% is the most you can get. I searched online and it looks like this be the largest site for all types of visas, including the 129F. That small sample size has to do.

But whoever said that it could happen that no one in a full week on here gets approved (there is now one person that updated for their 6/26 NOA2)....c'mon.

Anything is possible; not likely though. I agree with you now after looking at the numbers that the sample is a good sample.

I agree - of course anything's possible, but it's awfully unlikely.

These centers process more than I-129F's

You can't just look at the I-129F numbers and say they're not doing anything. They seem to put "emphasis" on different areas as they fall behind. CSC was way behind on I-129Fs for a while and now they are approving them so quickly. They let them pile up for months and I'm afraid that's what VSC is doing right now.

if you wanted a fair and accurate view of the VSC workload, you should take into account all visas, not just I-129F's.

K1 Process -

1/30/12 - I-129F sent

2/2/12 - NOA1 Received (CSC)

2/3/12 - Visa App Fee Check Cashed

Yea the fiscal year, that might be a good theory. Im sure they have shifted some resources away. But I think of the whole situation like this: As a business, if my nationwide goal is 5 months...then i need to meet that goal. If something other petition has priority over the I129F that is very understandable. But i would think my Boss at the end would still ask "How come u didnt meet your goal". They still have a quota to meet and a nationwide mandate that says "5 months". How bad was 1.5 years ago? We just joined like 5 months ago.

You are trying to apply private industry efficiency expectations here. Does not apply. What applies is governmental direction from above; in this case, the highest priority might well be to server the petitions of the almost 1,000,000 (I've heard) people that were brought in as minors, went to school, and now are given the benefit of a work permit as long as they are under 30 years old. SOme say this is a decision based on the upcoming elections, maybe, maybe not, but if you call CSC (Customer Service Center), a the top of the options is the one to care for this cases; I'd say that it has priority. Let's assume that of that estimate of 1,000,000 only 75% file; that's still a lot of petitions to check that equals to about 1562 months (assuming each petition takes 30 minutes, 8 hrs/day work, no holidays); so unless USCIS is about to hire 1500 people and with that, do the work in 1 month; that means that workload will have to be absorbed somehow, overtime, shorter reviews, more people reviewing, or a combination of the above. etc. ANyway I see this, the scenarios lead to more delays for everyone. I want to be wrong here, but all of a sudden, a non-planned massive volume of petitions cannot be absorbed overnight.

BTW, last 1 1/2 year ago VSC was snail slow (our petition for K-1 was there), while CSC (California) was moving along at a good clip. IN the past few months, CSC has turned quite slow (and guess what, our petition for AOS was transferred there in late Dec/early Jan; under the "speedy processing" reason).

There have been two people total for this week on the IR/CR1. That's not an I-129F. Why havent they moved either?

One flaw in that reasoning - few of the young people affected by that ruling will have even have completed the forms yet. It will take them time to hear about it, figure out what to do, complete their paperwork, and mail it in. That can't be what's backing up Vermont. Yet.

Those are not Visas. They are petitions to apply for a visa at the US embassy.

You Petition at a service center to be allowed to apply for a visa at the US embassy.

You do not apply for the visa at the service center.

Obviously you are taking this whole thing out of context. Applying for a visa application at VSC or CSC.
