NOA1 / NOA2 Question

Okay... I'm not sure if it is just because I am tired... but I am in the dark here.

Before they issue an NOA2, do they do a background check? If so... whom do they do the background check on? And... is the NOA2 always an approval? Or is the NOA2 also used for a denial?

Also... when an NOA2 is received... what happens next? Details please!

These are just questions that crossed my mind today. My brain is mush... so I am temporarily "out of mind" at the moment... too tired to think. So, I would appreciate your input. Thanks everybody... hope you are having a beautiful day!

From what I understand the NOA2 is a approval for your case to be forward to the paticular embassy/consulat. I do think they do a surface background check on the fiance(e).

I am sure someone with more information will respond.

The important thing is to make sure your fiance has everything he needs for the interview. Please make sure he doesnt't sit on anything like police reports from places he has lived since the age of 16 for longer than 6 months. I would also suggest that you put a folder or binder together with all of the documents you need to send him and have tabs for him to insert his information. If you are using IM please try to set your settings so that the date and time will show. Make sure you dont sent any IM's talking about the Consulat....lol.

The beneficiary & petitioner both undergo the security checks. There is even lead way for an attorney handling the case to have his name undergo a security check. Basically anyone mentioned in the petition MAY be subject to a security name check. There are 3 different ones at service center level. These are NCIC, IBIS and NIIS database checks and they have the option of further database security checks if they feel they are warrented. A further NCIC (FBI) check done at NVC. Further security checks are then done at Embassy.

I didn't know I was a gold member... and what does that mean gold member... it's just little blue dottie things to the left side to me... haha! This site has so much information... that I sometimes feel a little over-whelmed... so, it is easier for me to ask.
