Well, she sent her ds-230 and it wasnt that long after when I sent the AOS and she sent her Visa packet, I would say about a week and half. After that, I think they will give you an answer in about 20 days, but it was much quicker for us. Then again, I called them to find out the status almost every day, as was advised through here. Thing is, they approved us of the AOS on April 16, which is a couple days after the 2 week window of booking appointments. We had to wait until the beginning of May before we received an email notifying us of her interview date. Which was June 22, so we waited about a month and half for the interview.

If your asking the timeline between the DS-230 and the notification of the interview date, I would say ours was about 1 month. But it seemed to go by much more quickly...you need to call the NVC and get status updates. What I would do is call 2-3 times a day, because I always wanted a different person to talk to. I just always looked for consistency in their answers..

Well, our case was closed on April 16. We then had to wait until the first two weeks in May, because thats when the schedule interviews for the following month. We got our interview date sometime May 4-5. Our interview date was June 22. And she was approved that same day. She got her approved visa on June 27-28. She will be here AUG 11!!! We pushed back the date so she can tie up her loose ends in El Salvador.

Hope this helps!

Yes, I think it definitely moved a lot faster once our stuff was at the NVC. You cant do the medical exam until your spouse receives the packet through the mail/email. Here, they will tell you what medical facilities are allowed to conduct testing and what testing results are accepted by the embassy. You will get the interview date AND the medical information at the same time. You have to do the medical exam about 3 weeks before the interview, which is what we did...

so maybe there might be hope that we might get an interview date for next month in August since our case was closed on 7/2/2012. Once El Savador sent you everything would you say things happened quick and getting appointment for the medical exam was done quick? Sorry for the questions i just want to have an idea on how things will go and how quick they might go. Thank you for all your help.

Well, here's how I was led to believe it works. The NVC schedules the interviews in the first two weeks of the month FOR the following month. Since you fall within the first two weeks, you COULD get lucky and they schedule your interview for August. The way ours worked was we got approved on April 16, a couple days AFTER the two week window where they schedule interviews. So, we had to wait for the first two weeks of May to get our interview date for JUNE.

If you get lucky, your interview date will be in August. Just keep calling the NVC and ask for updates, that's all I did. If the interview date is in August, and he gets approved, he will then have to wait for his visa, which takes about 3-5 days (at least, it did for us). Then it's up to you when you will be together!

If you are not as fortunate to get an interview date for August, you will have to wait until the first two weeks of AUGUST to get scheduled and interview for September! :( Then you will have to wait and see the date. You may get the beginning of Sept, which would be great, or the end, which would mean you would probably wait until October.

Worst case scenario, I would say October is when you guys would be together. Best case would be August-September (depending on interview date). That's just how I would look at it. Understand, there are thousands of people doing what you are doing. But the tough part is over. This process is a lot more quicker than the I-130 petition.

Keep the faith! You are almost done!!!! :) And keep calling NVC!!!
