Hi, We are new here and just starting the process for my husband (German) to get his visa. It is already clear to us that we are going to need a sponsor, and are wondering is anybody with a regular income over the poverty line eligible to sponsor us, or do things like bad credit make a difference? Our sponsors would be a married couple, both with decent, steady incomes, but they have debt and not such a good credit record. Will we have to find someone else?

The credit history is not important for the sponsorship. As long as they meet the 125% over the poverty guideline, for a specified number of dependents, you will be fine.
