Passports at Interview for K1

I noticed that some of the filers of other applications have stated that passports are taken at the interview and then returned along with the visa. For those of you who have had your interview and are filers for the 1129f can you please let me know if this is the case (Dominican Republic Consulate). Thanks for your answers in advance.

Sure because the visa is a sticker that they put on one page on your passport, so if you want your visa, you're obliged to give them your passport. :P It doesn't depend on your country, all US visas are stickers "sticked" on a passport.

It would actually be a bad sign if they don't take your passport at the US consulate...

They must keep your passport in order to stamp it with the visa (as long as you are approved). This may take days/weeks and then it is ready to be given back to the passport holder. YOU WANT THEM TO KEEP THE PASSPORT!

Yes, this is correct information. You need to surrender your passport to the consulate so they can apply the visa sticker to it, you will then recivev it via mail within 1-2 weeks, maybe sooner.
