I went to the pool today with the hubby and then we got slurpees (I feel guilty about the Slurpee but they were so delicious!) enjoy your Sunday evenings

They used to have peach slurpees. I loved those.

I have done cardio and abs and am about to do weights. I had a stakeout break.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

With the temperatures being in the 100's these past few days, I found myself thinking of Ramadan and all the different foods to prepare for hubby in the weeks to come. I made the Harira soup last year but wasn't exactly happy with the taste. I decided to try to remake the soup last week with hopes of having a good and tasty soup for Ramadan as hubby loves this soup so much. After making the new revised soup, it was a hit and I have made it twice since last week and hubby just finished the last bowl and said please make sure you keep this recipe as it's wonderful. Today, I stood in the kitchen cutting up lamb into cubes and freezing baggie size portions for the soup. We still have lamb from the last Eid Al-Adha as we still have about 30 lbs left from 200lbs. I told hubby we have to try to eat the lamb before this Eid Al-Adha as we need the room for the next lamb. I also wanted him to try some new American sweets like lemon meringue squares as he loves anything lemon. I made sellou last year and hmmm this was really good but expensive to make but I will try to have this done a few days before Ramadan starts. Today, I am trying a new cookie recipe, it's semolina cookies, they look yummy and anything with almonds, hubby likes. Chebakia is so delicious, but I just cannot get it right, it falls apart when frying and the texture is just not right, but I may try just one more time soon.

So that's my day, just sitting around making out recipes. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday.

thats the hardest thing for me.. cooking the food! i follow everything as the directions say but i feel its just short of tasting Arab  everything tastes Amarabican

200 lbs of lamb?!

Unless that's a Lamb of Unusual Size, like the ROUS from the Princess Bride, that's not a lamb at all.

Why does 200 lbs sound odd to you? We didn't pay over $300.00 for some little male weighing only 100 lbs or less. Ewes and Rams usually average between 90 up to 250 lbs and this farmer had at least 200 to choose from mostly females and they were even larger than the males. Mohammed said they always purchased a lamb in morocco that even weighed more than this one, so it's not unusual.

Looking for some advice and I guess this is the place to start, so any helpful advice would be appreciated.

My husband has been working now for three months and is doing a great job and has been acknowledged at work as well. His co workers really like him and some are very interested in Islam and will ask him a few questions here and there. However, there is always someone who will take it a bit further. He has a co worker that he has to work closely with everyday, in the beginning the guy would gradually ask about Islam. From there, his questions were getting more involved and kinda making Mohammed feel a little uneasy as to how to answer them without offending him. Like for example, a while back ago he told Mohammed, I know where you go when you leave for 5 minutes or so, your off to pray. He then said, who do you pray too and why so many times a day? Mohammed explained a little bit, and the guy said oh then you don't believe in the same God we do, and that's to bad. Mohammed really didn't want to speak about religion at work as he knows exactly what can happen with others. Mohammed then asked him, well who do you pray to, and the guy said Jesus. Mohammed said okay and left the conversation with just that, the guy was not happy and said wait, you never said who you prayed to, and Mohammed said God. They guy said well that is who I pray to as well, then Mohammed said, you said Jesus, and of course he went on to talk about Jesus and God as one. I am not here to justify what anyone believes in so please don't judge me on that, I am here just stating what is happening with my husband at work and how he should handle this situation. The next day, the guy asked about women in Islam, he asked about the mosque and if women could pray there too. He has been getting more rude each day with his questions, and Mohammed has already said to him, I would rather not speak about religion if that okay with you. He also barges in on Mohammed during the afternoon prayer and tries to interrupt him by speaking to him and he is very aware that Mohammed is on his break. Everything he brings to lunch, the guy says it's nasty looking and Mohammed has now left the break room and eats alone in a small room which he actually is starting to like as he feels shy eating in front of others with bread LOL and no fork or spoon but that is the Moroccan in him. Now the guy is just rude to Mohammed and I feel sad for him as he is really trying to make friends and this one guy just makes his day suck at work.

There is another guy who is very nice and wants to always go with Mohammed to the Mosque on Friday to see how muslims pray LOL. He told him he is welcome.

Has any of your spouses had to deal with anyone who is this rude. The list of questions are numerous each day and I could sit here all day and right them, but I think you know where I am coming from. I can only tell Mohammed to tell him he would rather not speak about religion but nothing is working so far.

Any suggestions for my hubby?

Has your husband talked to HR or his manager about this? The guy is harrassing him and that's not right. If your husband politely told him he'd rather not discuss religion that should be enough and the guy should back off. It sounds like this particular guy is just trying to get a rise out of your husband. He should contact a manager to see what can be done about this. I know that doesn't always work but at least there will be evidence that your husband tried to get help (if the manager doesn't help, he should go higher up). This co-worker sounds childish with the criticizing of his food and interupting his prayers. In the future I would advise your husband to not discuss religion with anyone in the workplace just as a precaution. It's really none of his co-workers' business what God he prays to or how or why.

Thanks Mithra, I told him this morning to go see Human Resources and report his behavior as Mohammed said he only speaks to him this way and no one else. The guy is 21 years of age and has admitted that his own mother will not even cook for him, so that tells you a little bit about him in my book. Mohammed is such a nice guy, that he said, I don't want him to get fired as I know he needs the money and has been looking for work for a long time. I said, it doesn't matter honey, as he seems the kind of guy that is looking for trouble and you just may be the guy he points the finger at if something happens at work. Mohammed has tried to avoid all contact with him lately, and will not discuss religion anymore he said. The food issue is nothing more than a left over tajine or soup on some days or just a sandwich, so I cannot figure out the life of me why it looks nasty to him. I made a smoothie for him one day to keep in the fridge at work, when Mohammed went to get it and the majority of it was poured out and we are guessing it was him.

Thanks again for your reply, very helpful.

I also agree with the HR idea.. and also consider having your husband document his problems. HR and other organizations (such as law enforcement if it went that far) love documentation.

Yeah LOL in my job, its documentation all day long for sure. I bought him a little note book to keep in his locker at work just for that reason alone. He will be having his 90 day review soon and I told him earlier this would be a good time to discuss anything and everything that may concern you. I sure hope he takes this advice and I am going to show him the replies here and hopefully he will take it to heart and not let these people run all over him due to his religion.

Thanks Julianna
