Maybe some fo you remember me.

My husband is in Iraq until May 2007 (he could be extented until August 2007, you never know with the US Army).

Should we start the K3 process now or should I wait 2 more months? If I get the visa, how long is it valid? i mean, how many days/month do i have to enter the US once I have the visa in my hands?

Thanks!

Well the K-3 takes a while, and correct me if I'm wrong, the visa is good for up to 6 months (you have up to 6 months to use it). I know the K-1 is like that...

Also, the American citizen has to submit the petition. Can he fill forms out and have all the proof collected for him and send the completed forms and photos back home to have someone put the packet together and send them to the serice center?

Just little bits...I am not too sure on all of this as I am doing a K-1...wondering if there are expiditions for US soldier's wives?...now wouldn't that be too nice....probably not then. lol

All in all, it probably will take until May of next year to get everything done and then approved and such...

I think he can file from Iraq. It's a US base. The mail goes to US 1st and is then sent to Iraq by the US Army.

The K-3 is good for TWO YEARS, not 6 months. The K-1 is good for 6 months. Hope that helps.

Can your husband come to France to pick you up when he gets out?

He can file via DCF in Paris, without being resident there. You can apply for an get your Immigrant Visa (CR-1) within a month or less.
