Lost my receipt!

Hi! So I received my letter from USCIS on Sunday saying they had recieved my packet/payment, and I THINK the letter said something about confirming my address by calling a number? I was going to look at the letter today and realized I may have been overzealous in my cleaning and chucked it out!

My question is- did I read that right, do I have to call and confirm my address or just wait for my biometrics appointment? How important is the receipt?

I could go to my big garbage bin outside and go through the trash to find it by thats gross and if its not super important and I misread it and all I have to do is wait that would be a waste of time! Please let me know :D

THANK YOU :)

Seems like you threw away your NOA-1. While it is for information purposes it does have sensitive information, like your case number, alien resident number etc... If you can find it would be just better for you. Because if you want to contact USCIS, with any questions, they will ask for your case number.

Good luck.

Is it super important or will I get an NOA2 or Biometrics letter soon anyway?

You will get a biometrics letter which will have your case number and A# on it as well. The only problem is, as one poster pointed out, that sensitive private information is on the form you threw out. So it is your call if you want to search for it through the garbage. I think I would put on a pair of latex gloves and let the fun begin :)

Have to walk out my garage service door, walk across the street to get my mail, have a counter in my garage and go through all the mail. Most of it, not the least bit interested in, so it ends up in the trash can. Important stuff comes into my home.

Anything from the USCIS gets instantly scanned into my computer and carefully filed away. That is because we are interested in it.

Just sounds like to me you are not interested in becoming naturalized, so why even bother.
