Will either the transcript or 1040 form do the job for the I-134?

And how do you get it notarized? There is no place to sign on the transcript.

Do I just hand write a statement saying that this is my tax transcript and sign it and notarize?

I appreciate all your help!!

Tax transcripts are fine and preferred, and no they don't need to be notarized or signed they just provide the numbers that they are looking for is all, the only thing that needs notarization is the I-134 form it self.

I got a set for the past 3 years, free and simple to get. The Visa Officer knows exactly what they are and all info that the want will be on them.

a tax transcript will be fine. don't need to notarize the tax transcript. you notarize the I-134 form.

I also went with just the transcripts, since dealing with the IRS automated system was alot easier than trying to find my old returns (how sad). The only thing that needs to be notarized is the actual affidavit, and you can usually get it done for free at your bank.

Thanks guys for the response!!

Then the transcript it is! The IRS are pretty good over the phone. They just faxed it to me with in couple hours.

I have no idea why but my lawyer wanted the transcript notarized... I guess it won't hurt?

I didn't know my bank (B of A) does notary... or do they?

domini,

For my I-134 (for Japan), my lawyer told me I only need the latest transcript, job letter, bank letter. No pay stub or w-2.

Is this what everyone else doing?

Bank letter is optional if your income exceeds the 125% poverty line, Job letter is recommended because it shows that you are employed and employment status, if you can provide copies of past 6 months pay stubs, that also shows that you are still employed with a steady income. For the bank letter many just bring past 6-12 months bank statements.

Thank you sooo much I was soo worried because I have direct deposit and its been out of work for a couple of months; so my pay stubs are at work and I really didn't want to go there.

I do exceed the poverty line, plus I brought my house and cars documents just in case.
