Ok no fair for the confusion on the two Monday threads. Especially when I didn't get to have my tea with suhoor.

Typical Monday morning here. Trying to get into the swing of things. Talked to Usama last night and he has been sick with the flu for a few days with no one at all to help him since his sisters are living with a friend of theirs now. He said he almost died yesterday 'cause there was no one to get him some water. I was like, "why didn't you just get it yourself" and he said, "I was sick in bed.".

Ok call me uncaring and heartless but I'm a single mom of two Irish twins (less than a year apart) and I can remember having 102 temp and having to still wake up to feed both daughters at 2am while my husband was out sleepin' around. I know the poor guy is sick but I think men tend to be a bit of a baby when it comes to illness. :P

Tomorrow I have to get a Hep A and a Typhoid shot for my trip and then some sort of antibiotic. Anyone know why I'd need an antibiotic? Also, did anyone have side effects from these shots. Oh and one more question......does a shot negate my fast for the day?

Ok that's it outta me. Hope everyone has a good one!

Good Monday morning everyone! This weekend was awesome! I am in a great mood this morning and I am super hyper!

Let's see... Saturday I went shopping with my hubby after work. We bought a new bed frame. It's a canopy bed! I have always wanted one and he remembered that I said that two years ago! I didn't even remember that I told him! We then bought a new comforter, sheets, and pillow cases and two new pillows. Then we went to the 76ers basketball game. It was such a good game! They were tied at 100pts in the last minute and then the Knicks scored in the last 10 seconds and won the game by two points! :crying: Oh well! We got $15 each off for the haunted house next to the stadium and went there after the game. I have never screamed so much at a haunted house in my whole life! People just kept popping out in front of me! The last part of it was stupid though. It was a maze like thing and it was made of chain linked fences and you could see through it all and find the end.

Anyway, Sunday our new bed frame arrived 30min early and was set up by 10:30. We took the comforter and sheets back because we grabbed the wrong size and found an even better comforter than the one originally bought, and it matches our new bed perfectly! We took an afternoon nap as we always try to do on Sundays and then we went to this new chinese buffet for dinner. After dinner we went to blockbuster and I got three movies, "Lakehouse" "Haunted" and my favorite movie, "Hocus Pocus!" We watched "Lakehouse" last night. I thought it was a really good movie. Then we went to sleep!

The only bad thing about this weekend was that the hot water know for the shower stripped and we can't turn it on so we either have to take cold showers or none at all. So, seeing how it was already cold in our apartment, we decided to wait a day. Now I have to go call the plumber because our landlord won't do it. So that's all for my weekend update. I have to get going. I have a few things I have to do at work today befor my doctors appointment. I hope everyone had a good weekend and you all have a great day! :D

(Wow! That was long!)

My husband uses the saying "I'm sick" whenever I get mad at him and he knows he's in trouble! Or when he want's to sleep longer and we have to go do something, "I'm sick! We can't go today!" He's a really big baby when he really is sick though. He wants me to check his temp every hour, get him juice and water, make him soupa, and tuck him in blankets and fluff his pillow! Once he asked me to change the channel on the TV when the remote was in arm reach! I laughed and told him that if I do that, he would have to get his own juice, water, and soup for the rest of the day. He managed to change it after that.

I wasn't required to have any shots before my trip, but probably not a bad idea. The antibiotics are probably "insurance". Dunno.

Whoever said the first year of marriage was the hardest...yup, they were right! Now that we're on year 2, everything is peaches and cream :D Of course, we're only on day 2 of year 2, but still...:lol:

Went for a lovely walk around the park yesterday, had iftar at the masjid and made it through 4 rakats of taraweeh before we went home. We have a slight "issue" at this masjid where parents will shoe their kids off into the mausala (prayer area) during dinner and the kids will run around like wild banshees. Yesterday, I had had enough. So, I organized some games that didn't involve running, and then read them some stories and gave a mini lesson Ramadan. Now I'm afraid they're going to rope me into teaching at the weekend Islamic school :o

Really? Maybe it was the time that you went that you didn't need it. I had looked up on this website http://www.cdc.gov/travel/nafrica.htm#vaccines and yeah it's not required but I'm super scared of health issues since I have Lupus and anything can send me into a flare-up so I'd rather be on the safe side. I wonder why she didn't recommend Hep B since I"ll be having bodily contact with the natives. I 'll have to ask tomorrow.

Oh you'd be such a cool teacher!!!!!!!

I actually was (briefly) a teacher. Taught second grade. Howeva, the organization I was with working for my alternative certification and I had some philosophical differences that caused us to part ways. If I ever will be a teacher (and it's always in the back of my mind), I'm going back to school and getting certified the old fashion way.
