Hello everyone, I am Julia (petitioner) and my fiance is Stelio (beneficiery), we filled our petition back in may and now we got letter stating that we need to file for a waiver. I contacted an immigration lawyer who will help us file the waiver. I just want to ask if someone when through such process, my fiance was conditionally sentenced back in 1996 for crime of moral turpitude ( it was a fight between him and someone else, that person claimed that his walet was stolen by Stelio, so the crime falls under unarmed robbery , in Bulgaria you get min 3 years of jail for it, but he got 3 years of probation because he did not have previous crimes), he was never been in jail before or after the incident, he is rehabilitated by Bulgaria law, but by US immigration law this makes him unadmissible to the USA. Now I have to prove "extreme hardsip for the US sitizen" .I would like to hear from people that have similar experience, and of course whoever else wants to say something I will appretiate it. It very long proces that brings our anxiety up high, stresses us out and makes us have sleepless nights. I just know that love is stronger than enything else and what does not kill you makes you stronger. We wish best of luck to all of you, and we hope you will get your visa approved asap.

Maybe there is a way he can get his record expunged, or get police and court clearance from his country. Even if you use a lawyer, the lawyer would want that information.
