I know many of you have remarked you have NEVER had issues with your packages and mail through postal service to Nigeria. But here I am again Lord help me. Small box wwith two phones sent May 16th. Last trace confirm USPS was in Chicago. Checking each day on the Nigerian Postal EMS site but nothing yet. I only sent First Class which is slow slow. But here we are June 7th 21 days later.

Any advise what to do where to go to find this if I can. Thanks :blink:

Where was it mailed to? On the customs form how much did you declare?

Port Harcourt (MTN office). Declared nothing as advised by post office guy.

Did yuo insure it ? What was listed on the customs slips. Sometimes Ca 2 Lagos took 6 weeks

Nope not insurer put no value or what was in it. Post office manager says that sometimes they will leave alone at customs if they think its nothing of value. It was just First-Class mail which is slow slow. Just hate I can't track it anywhere. My baby need this phone dang it. :)

Welcome to Nigeria! LOL I mailed a letter at the beginning of May to Lagos, still not received yet. It has taken in the past a good month to get there, when I would send it to the East. Be patient.

Man as long as it gets there. I don't mind.

Give it two more weeks.

There were two nasty road accidents recently.

The postcard I mailed on 5/23 is in Ibadan already.

Oh okay. didn't know about that. And i am sure the plane crash also has put things on back burner too. Thanks

I sent a package registered mail, but not certified, which had my husbands wedding band in it, customs had to declare it valued at over $300....It was last at the Chicago box also, I went to the post office, and was told that because it was not certified, there was nothing they could do.... I great loss on my end, any request for reimbursement of the ring has not been answered and they said it is not a certified or insured for that reason, I had assumed it was insured due to the cost it was to send it, only to find out...it wasn't. This was sent back in March, and never received, Good luck.....

Dang the wedding ring. I am so sorry. I still have the original petition packet and some other papers to send about 3 lbs. Good grief. Why do they have to be so incompetent and such crooks.

Yep, that's the part that burns my behind too...the stealing! My brother-in-law told his fiance today that they just received the package I sent to them over two years ago (before my first visit!)

Holy Mother of Jesus...I asked her, did they have to watch the movies first and use the webcam before passing it forward? Maybe the box was not large enough and got lost! Who knows!

Did you use Priority Mail where the package has to be signed for and has a tracking number? I do hope it shows up very soon!

I have always sent documents via usps express(which gets tranferred to EMS) $29.95 or so (bye to UPS and FEdex). anyway never had an issue the many times times I have done so until the last one which was in january during the fuel strike. they received it and just kept the package in their office. it took me emails to usps(who could do nothing as it left US already), emails to EMS(as their online tracking is trash) and calls to EMS( using my sis in Nja) for them to reveal it is in their festac office... and that we better be ready to pay more as it was classified as parcel not documents hence they dnt deliver parcels to destinations Even if so, couldn't they have sent a notification to come pick up package to the owner? how were we to knw it had arrived in their office, if I was not tracking it for my mom's interview?. anyway,Trust my younger sis. she went there without money and after exchanging words and demanding where they saw the package classified as parcel when "docs" was boldy checked and written on d envelope, they released the package
