How long until my fiance can begin working?

After we're married i know we need to immediately file the I-485 and the EAD. My question is, generally speaking, after we're married how long will it take until she can get a job? My fiancee has worked every day since her 15th birthday. She's 27 now and sitting around without a job month after month isn't going to be a lot of fun for her. I'm trying to get a lot of stuff lined up for her...like attending classes with my mom (my mom's a teacher), coming home at lunch break and dropping her off at the library, gym membership, etc. but she really wants to just work.

Generally, the EAD is being approved 2-3 months after filing.

I haven't really gotten this far in my prep work yet....but once we're married I know we can immediately file AOS, and about how long after that can we file EAD, or can we pretty much do it at the same time?

You file it all at the same time, in the same package. EAD and AP are free when filed together with AOS. Read through the guides here on VJ.

Lovers don't finally meet somewhere.
They're in each other all along.”

EAD is meant to be a stop-gap measure for the time before the GC is approved. Once the GC is approved, it renders the EAD useless because the GC gives the person the right to work by itself. The EAD is filed with the AOS application and takes around 3 months to be approved. The GC comes some time after that.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
