Late i-751 filing accepted

Hi. My husband and I filed our i-751 late and just received our NOA letter with a year extension, but does that mean we can travel? It states that the extension does not apply if your status has been terminated. Since we filed late, was his status automatically terminated? We have an international trip planned for this summer but are not sure if we should cancel it until the I-751 is completely processed.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I'm not an expert, but my husband and I filed late as well, and our check was cashed today, so we take that as evidence that USCIS has accepted our case. To that end, we will consider the NOA-1 to follow as a literal extension of our case acceptance, and treat it as such. We plan to go to England in August, so once my husband receives his NOA-1, we will make copies and bring them along with his expired GC.

The ORIGINAL NOA1 is required to be used with an expired GC, not copies.

Just to update, we made an infopass appointment to find out for sure if we could travel. They gave my husband an I-551 stamp good for one year of travel! We wanted the stamp just to be sure since there was a gap of time between his expired GC and the NOA extension letter. But other than that they said it was no problem to travel while our I-751 was pending.
