Not Sure If We're Approved OR If There's An Issue

So he had his interview today. The woman he said was nice and they joked around with one another. She asked him a few questions, how did we meet, remarked our story was like a romance novel, have we met our parents, visited one another and what I did for a living, when were we getting married. Pretty basic questions. Had him sign the 156 and then told him to come back tomorrow morning to have his fingerprints done as their system was down today

Now... we're both trying to figure out if we're approved. She didn't mention it to him but the interview was quick and easy. He's a bit worried because of all the other information we've read on others and the fact that she didn't say he was approved.

I'm wondering myself but not too worried. I figure if she didn't ask for any additional information and wanted him to return for his fingerprints it should be okay. However I do have a question... she didn't ask him if he wanted to pay for expedited mail to get the visa - is that something they normally ask you to do? Or do they just send it? Would they give him the visa tomorrow when he goes in for fingerprints or is that unheard of?

OH btw... he visited last week - for those who have followed my thread. Brought all the extra information we might need for customs, k1 package, bank account, employer note... they asked for nothing and waved him through quick and easy. All that worry for nothing!

huh? This was done in Sydney? They never ask for fingerprint on the day or day after. and pay for postage to send visa back to him? it all sounds different to the norm!

I had fingerprints done at interview in sydney. just real quick ones though at the window with the officer. I wouldn't worry too much, nothing really sounds dodgy or anything. I think if they were going to refuse or put you into AP they would just tell you while you were there.

Yeah the woman had told him to return today as their system was down for fingerprints, said everything looked good so I just gathered that meant yes. They seemed to have a good rapport with one another, said she was very smiley while talking with him. Interview took less than ten minutes. I think he was in my 11 and out by 11:20 so... Phew. I figured she'd tell him if he needed more right then. Wonder if there's been any cases where the visa was handed out right away. Wouldn't it be nice if he returned tomorrow and they handed it to him!

Athena - I wasn't sure about the paying for mail to be sent, I had read it elsewhere and wondered if it applied here. But no one asked him to pay for mail. Though yes, defn the fingerprints

Athena - found this from another thread http://www.usaimmigrationattorney.com/SecurityNameChecksAndAdministrativeReview.html so after reading it, I gather my finances name is so common this might be the reason as there are no criminal records? It's just a further check I suppose as explained in the article.
