HELLO TO EVERY ONE:

I want to ask regarding ds 230 question no. 2:OTHER NAMES USED OR ALIASES (married woman give maiden name). I know that i need to put my single name on it but im confuse because on my G-325 i answer NONE to the question other named use or aliases(include previous marriages) i answer that NONE im thinking if its conflict to my ds 230 #2 if i answer my maiden name. Please help

On both forms you are supposed to list any other name you have used before (maiden name if you've been previously married, tribal name, legal name change etc).

I don't know about your country, but in Australia where I am from we were required to include all previous names on our police check as well.

If the name you have used before was from a previous marriage, they will see that anyway as you have to provide proof of prior marriages and divorces.

I had a couple of names I was previously known as, and I forgot to enter one of them on my initial forms. When I realised it, I just included it in all the forms from then on, and attached a small letter explaining what had happened. I didn't get any questions over it at all.

In my opinion, it is easier to explain misunderstanding the question or forgetting to enter an answer on one form than get caught out deliberately leaving information off all your forms.

If you have never been married before, and never used any name other than the one you are using now, then of course you would continue to answer 'none', because you would have no other names you've used before.

I hope your journey goes quickly for you, best of luck :)

Worry first about giving an accurate answer this time. This is the form you are signing under oath. I recommend stating "other names" like this.

First Middle MAIDEN, MARRIED, or for multiple marriages, First Middle MAIDEN, MARRIED, MARRIED, MARRIED. Make family names in ALL CAPS with comas between them, just as I typed above.

If asked about the inconsistency, just indicate you were confused before but stated correctly on the DS230. You can't change what is already done.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
