Blue Card

At my fiance visa interview she was given a blue card and told to go home. What does that mean? She said they were not happy because I have only been divorced for about one year from my last wife and that we first met only one month after my divorce. She said the problem was not her but with my things. We have no idea what to do next. Any suggestions?

A 221g (blue vs white copy) will arrive at your fiancee's home of record on her application approximately 2 weeks after interview. Most likely, it will have boxes checked for RFE (request for evidence of bona fide relationship). Cheer up! A blue letter means that your case will not go back to NVC in Hampshire for likely revocation like a white letter. You may even be allowed to submit the requested evidence without an additional interview if it does not exceed 6 months from your original interview. So, your cup is 90% full. Just wait for the actual letter. Have your fiancee scan or digitally photo & send to you to review. How many times did you see one another? How much time did you spend together? How much evidence did you submit the first time? Daily e-mail logs, letters/cards, phone records, Western Union or MoneyGram receipts, engagement ring, time/date photos of you two together, airplane tickets. Was your divorce certificate properly documented? Was your original statement of how you met, fell in love, and how you intend to marry within 90 days (if K-1) convincing?

usually, this blue slip given on interview has a list of things that she needs to gather.

Seems they need stuff from you.

Best thing for now is for her to SCAN it in and EMAIL it to you, then YOU study it, let us know what is in it.

The blue slip that Big Baby references is similar, but is not common - ie - approved on interview day but is re-adjudicated during the final review at the end of the day, and a new blue slip sent out to the beneficiary.

What yer lass has, is the 'common' thing for blue slips - receive it on interview day.

So, get the scan of it, you study it, let us know exactly what's in it.

Then we can help you a bit more.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
