its just getting depressing knowing that we sent it in january and its now june and we've not heard anything at all, my fiance is thinking about re-doing all the paperwork we sent and sending it to the CA center this time but not sure if that would be a good idea.

Wow wow wow... You should have worried about it earlier than after 5 months!! And it's definitely NOT a good idea to send everything again to California. There are instructions from USCIS, and it explicitly states where to send it.

Did you initially send it to the Dallas Lockbox? Try to call USCIS, maybe they will be able to tell you that they have your file and what is your receipt number (starting by WAC or EAC). That's on the first notice of action your fiance should have received if you sent the petition package properly.

Hopefully they have it and the notice of action got lost for whatever reason.

Also, some January filers have not received their approval yet, so if the USCIS indeed have your petition, just keep waiting....

Did they cash his check? That's one way to know for sure, though, I can't believe you two waited so long!

she had to send a money order or whatever there called out there (she took the money to a shop and they gave her like a check or something). we dont have them here in the UK so not sure what it is exactly.

Same as a bank draft here in the UK, guaranteed funds, better than a check for the payee anyway.

Money orders can be tracked as well. Does she still have the receipt with the serial number on it? If so, she should go back to where she purchased it and they can investigate if it's been cashed.

not sure, shes at work at the moment so will have to ask her when she gets home, she normally keeps receipts so she should have it somewhere (hopefully)

Fill in your timeline and you'll receive an estimate on when your petition may be adjudicated. However, since you filed in March, so you have quite a bit of additional waiting to go.
