my lawyer told me that if i have had 3 alcohol related convictions in my life that i need to provide copies of the convictions. I had an owi in 2008 and 1 in 1993. In the mid 80s i got pulled ovwer for speeding and thought i got an open container ticket but cant remember. Sheriffs office and courthouse have no record of anything in that time frame. Anyway...do i need the copies and if i do do they need to be certified? idk why it says im from thailand...my fiance is though

Welcome to the forum.

I am assuming that you are working on filing your K-1 petition, your letter is a little scant on those details. When in doubt, read the I-129F instructions, page 3.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Welcome. Have you read the instructions for the I-129F yet? Your lawyer is telling you exactly that. If you have had 3 or more convictions relating to alcohol/controlled substances occurring on separate occasions, you will need to provide certified court records AND police records to comply with IMBRA. If you can't obtain them, get your lawyer to work. I would think the lawyer should have some knowledge/experience with your situation.
