My petition was received by CSC on July 18th. It was approved on September 18th. I never received any touches or RFE's. On September 19th, CSC sent me 5 emails saying the same thing,

that my petition was approved. I waited to receive a notice of some kind saying it had been sent on to NVC, but nothing. I then waited for something from the NVC to say they had received the petition, but nothing. I started calling the NVC really often, but kept getting the reply, they still had not received my petition. Well, thanks to someone here on visa journey, I called to talk to an operator at the NVC. It took a lot of calling, but I finally talked to an operator and she told me my petition had been sent to the Manila Embassy on October 11th. It was said here on visa journey that the NVC doesn't have information on K visa's put on the automated service because they don't stay at the NVC very long..The automated system is for CR's and other things. Not K visa's. I still have not received anything from the NVC telling me my petition had been forwarded to Manila.

I never received anything from NVC either, the only way for me to know was to call them and get an operator on the phone.

Email NVC at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov reference your USCIS case number in the email header, and names of petitioner, and beneficiary as well as DOB of beneficiary. They will reply with status and if sent to the embassy, and the new Case number for the consulate.

Ya I wouldn't waste your time with the automatic system ... Just call the number and keep pushing buttons until you eventually get a human on the phone ... Since the K petitions are not there long they don't seem to make it into the automatic system ...

When I called and talked to a human they told me my number and that my case was transfered to Montreal Consulate (which was the wrong one for me in Canada but that an entirely different subject) ... I then hung up and called back again checking the automatic system and it still said they had no record of my petition ...

You should receive a hard copy letter from NVC via USPS when your petitioned is forwarded to your respective consulate or embassy.

My NOA2 was approved 9/18/06. NVC received my petition 10/2/06. On 10/10/06 NVC forwarded my approved petition to my SO's Consulate. On 10/13/06 I received the hard copy letter via USPS from NVC; It was dated 10/10/06.

Everyone should get one of these letters after their petition has been forwarded to their respective posts. If you didn't get one, then you're an anomoly, not the norm.

I had the same problem with NVC system...but I sent them an email inquiry and did get a response from them with my case # and information...so I called their telephone #, talked to a live person, and they confirmed that our case was indeed sent to the australian embassy. Waiting for actual letter which should come to me shortly. Oh yes, congratz & best wishes on your next step in the vj process. jj :D

I am in agreeance with the e-mail process! It works the best. I never once called. I e-mailed all of the time, and I finally heard back. I am still getting e-mails back that I sent a while ago bc I seriously e-mailed like everyother day. To call is a bit of a waste of time I think. Just be sure to list the full names, date of birth, and state if you are the petitioner or beneficiary, as one time I got one e-mail back stating this is what they need to fullfill my inquiry. Good luck, and may you be blessed with even greater patience and strength. You will get through this. God Bless.

Our NOA2 was also approved 15 Sept and received hard copy on 18 Sept. I have been emailing NVC and each time they said they had not received the petition form CSC yet. It has been one month. I sent another email this weekend and hoping for better news tomorrow. My fiancee is calling the Embassy in the morning, so hopefully one of us will get good news. Payato

The NVC doesn't put K1s in their system, therefore the automated system will NEVER recognize your case. Best option is to email. Chances are that when they respond, your case will already have been forwarded to the consulate. At some point, you definitely should receive a hard copy from the NVC indicating that the petition has been forwarded.

When you call the NVC press 1 for english and then press 5 to talk to an operator. If you hear someone speaking in spanish that means the lines are busy and you should just hang up and hit redial. It sometimes took me 6 or 7 tries but you will eventually get through. I got my NOA2 on Sept 7 and the NVC didn't get it until Oct 10. But it did go out 2 days later on the 12th. 3 days later the manila embassy got the petition. Have patients, it really takes it to deal with all of this.
