IL is known to follow the yellow one, expect to hear something in the next 10-14 days (if not less).

I have seen a few people whose YL asked for complicated stuff (tax transcripts etc.,) take longer. Driver's license or state ID is something most if not all, should already have.

I went ahead a long time ago and got transcripts just in case. My file folder is ready to go and so am I!

I just noticed that the YL came from NBC in Missouri and not from my DO. I'm probably thinking too much... but I wonder if that means that my file is still there, or has just been transferred to my DO (Atlanta)? If so, I probably shouldn't hold my breath for the IL.

The letter says:

Prior to forwarding your case for interview, USCIS has performed a complete review of your file and Application for Naturalization (Form N-400). As a result of that review, we have identified additional documentation may be needed. We recommend that you bring the documents listed below to your naturalization interview to limit any potential delays that might result if needed documents are not available at interview. In the event additional documentation is required, you will be advised at interview.
All documents must be clear and legible. If you have a document in any language other than English, please provide an English translation along with the original document. The translator must clearly certify that the translation is complete and accurate, and that he or she is qualified to translate.

If you have any questions about your interview or about the information requested, please contact USCIS National Customer Service Center at 1-800-XXX-XXXX.

USCIS recommends you bring the following documents to your interview:

X Bring your state-issued driver's license or state-issued photo identification card.

So it was the office in Missouri that sent this, not my local office. I've been in line for interview according to the USCIS website since 7/30... so not sure what to make of that. I thought once one was in line, that the file was already at the DO. I may be wrong about that. I guess we'll find out

Is yellow letter necessary? I didn't have it.

My interview letter came from Missouri.

Not everyone gets a yellow letter. Seems like they're either random, or if people have complicated cases. I'd fit the "random" profile - my case is pretty simple and straightforward.

I didn't realize that the IL comes from Missouri too... interesting For some reason I thought it came from the DO. My mistake.

Yeah its missed up ha!... I did not receive yellow letter, and the IL letter arrived before the online system update even. Then later it was updated.

I am telling you what, USCIS is not reliable seriously, you can expect anything from them at anytime.

I got scheduled for oath as I updated, and I did NOT receive a text/ email even though the status changed at their website and everytime I was receiving email/text but not that time and till now I did not. it was just a matter of luck me logging there to know about the oath, then the letter followed...

At my interview, the officer looked at my stack of evidence of marital union on his desk and noticed a car title (he asked to see it) as well as tax transcripts, passport, green card and DL. Also, he made copies of all of that plus (3 joint loans, 2 joint health insurance and 2 joint utility bills) even though I sent all of that with the package), then he gave me (USCIS will send you a written................. ), I was like oh boy, here we go, waiting again for whatever time. But before I go I told the officer I would love really to vote and the deadline is Oct 9, and he said he will process it ASAP, that was Tuesday, WED they are not working, Thrusday I was scheduled for oath just before the deadline).

I guess that was a combination of blessings and luck.

I hope everyone here get their journey over soon and smoothly....

I only signed up for text/email alerts recently (after I was put in line for interview scheduling)... not sure why I did, many report not getting the texts/emails anyway... but hey it was something to do! :whistle:

I check my status online periodically but have also read that some folks are still seeing, "in line" well after they've taken their oath.

Some folks in my DO get through before others... some get same-day oath, others are told a decision cannot be made... it's all over the map.

So yeah... whatever, whenever At least the YL was *something*.

Hi guys!I have a question.For the ones that had their interview already,do u received any kind of letter from the officer?(i don"t mean the oath letter,just a approval letter or something)I did not received any letter after my interview,the officer told me i will receive my oath letter in 2-3 weeks.It"s been more more than 3 weeks and i did not received my oath letter.I just called uscis now and they told me to wait 90 days and if i dont receive my oath letter to call them back.They also said that every applicant receive a form after the interview,regardless if they are approved or denied.I"m not in a hurry,i called them to see if they sent me my oath letter and never got it,got lost in the mail or something.Please let me know if u got any kind of letter after the interview.Thanks!

After the interview, you should have received N-652 (Naturalization interview results), and inside it the officer name and he/she should mark you passed english/civic test, and then one of the following:

1: USCIS will send you a written decision or

2: Congratulation, you have been recommended for a approval or

3: USCIS cannot make a decision about you case yet

If you did not get that form, call customer service, tell them you did not get it and you are kinda lost since you do not know the results of your interview and ask to talk to an officer to find what is going on with your case, then you get the most up to date info about your case...
