I pass my interview today. Thank you VJ!!! IO tells me that we have every month Oath ceremony.

First IO asks: "Do you understand The Oath of Allegiance?" (Yes)

Then she asks me to explain this. (Give up loyalty to different countries. Be loyal to the US. Support the Constitution. Serve the US: fight in the US Army or to do noncombatant service.)

She checks very carefully my passports. I don't have any trips.

And tell me give everything what I have to proof my marriage.

Writing and reading test: What state has the most people? California has the most people.

Civics: 1. what is one right or freedom from the First Amendment? (Speech)

2. Who is in charge of the executive branch? (The President)

3. If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President? (The Vice President)

4. There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them. (Citizens 18 and older can vote)

5. What is one reason colonist came to America? (Freedom)

6. During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States? (Communism)

Hi all,

i sent my N400 via an attorney on June 6th. Received biometrics and for July 11th and completed it on time. on the uscis website my status says "On July 16, 2012, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling."

the thing is, my i-751 is still pending. i sent it in May 2011.

my question is, should i expect a smooth n400 process? will my pending i-751 cause problems / longer processing time than a regular n400 application? anyone with this experinece on the forum?

these pending cases started to cause problems at home. it's effecting my travels and my work is mostly dependent on travelling. it's also stopping us from moving to a new place as i do not feel comfortable with the situation. i just want to get over this and move on with our lives but it's not happening so far.

any ideas in my case? thanks!

We came home today from work cranky as could be but that turned to excitement when the boyfriend looked in the mailbox... and saw his interview appointment letter! Rather surprised this happened so quickly as I was under the impression that St Paul was backed up, but his application is extremely straightforward, so perhaps that has made a difference. Now it looks like he will be able to vote in November, and we can go ahead and book our long weekend to Seattle for the weekend after the interview - hopefully by then we will have his oath date too!

FYI - this was a bit of a surprise because I had been checking his status online and it hadn't changed.

It happens. Many members have the same issue.

To answer your question, NO , it does not affect your N-400 at all, actually the N-400 will force the completion of I-751 as many reported.

What happens is that your N-400 will go all the way up to the interview, after that they have to process your I-751 in order to proceed to oath.

I understand how frustrating you are when it comes to work and travel, but nothing you can do but to wait until its done.

Hi all,

i sent my N400 via an attorney on June 6th. Received biometrics and for July 11th and completed it on time. on the uscis website my status says "On July 16, 2012, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling."

the thing is, my i-751 is still pending. i sent it in May 2011.

my question is, should i expect a smooth n400 process? will my pending i-751 cause problems / longer processing time than a regular n400 application? anyone with this experinece on the forum?

these pending cases started to cause problems at home. it's effecting my travels and my work is mostly dependent on travelling. it's also stopping us from moving to a new place as i do not feel comfortable with the situation. i just want to get over this and move on with our lives but it's not happening so far.

any ideas in my case? thanks!

We came home today from work cranky as could be but that turned to excitement when the boyfriend looked in the mailbox... and saw his interview appointment letter! Rather surprised this happened so quickly as I was under the impression that St Paul was backed up, but his application is extremely straightforward, so perhaps that has made a difference. Now it looks like he will be able to vote in November, and we can go ahead and book our long weekend to Seattle for the weekend after the interview - hopefully by then we will have his oath date too!

FYI - this was a bit of a surprise because I had been checking his status online and it hadn't changed.

Great news! I keep watching my mailbox too, although ATL (where I am) seems to have had a backlog for a while now. A couple of people on the Trackitt website, who have been waiting a while (one filed in March, the other in May) received their ILs today as well, and their online status hasn't changed either, from "in line".

I keep hoping... but I think mine may take a while yet. Congrats on having the appointment set!
