speaking of Eid..... what's the current consensus on the day/date? I can't figure out if it's Monday or Sunday...

We know the date of eid the same way we know the date of the start of Ramadan - sighting the moon :star: so, all the hoopla over when Ramadan starts, all will be repeated (to a lesser degree) over the start of Eid. It can make it hard to take off from work.

Sometime in 2008 - Received 10 year GC. Almost done with USCIS for life inshaAllah! Huzzah!

02/23/09 - Apply for citizenship

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!

I NEED EID CLOTHES !!!

Anyone have suggestions for a Muslim, pregnant, small girl ?? We went to a maternity store and everything looked so dumb on me :angry: My stomach isn't big enough for maternity .... yet it's too big for regular clothes. I tried on a few dresses with pants underneath and the tops were soooo tight they made my chest pop out which made Ali mad. Speaking of Ali .... that boy already has his Eid Clothes !!! He's sooo easy when it comes to shopping ... I'm the hard one.

Any suggestions ?!?!?!

and ordered an abaya. It was on clearance, 40.00, shipping DHL 12.00 and they customize to your size. Prices range from 25.00 to 300.00 Funny, my dress was at my door today when I got home, i just tried it on and am TOTALLY IN LOVE with it. Soooooo silky

Lol... i'm sorry i didn't realize what dress it was on, i only meant to send the link to the site in general. You are quite right, that one will not work for pregnancy. Yes, I ordered 10/4/06 got it today.

Hmmm... well I'm the ONLY Muslim within miles... I will "celebrate" Eid alone... I'll probably be sitting in my apartment wearing jeans and a sweat shirt. Whee.

A lot of Muslim clothing is loose enough for a pregnant woman to wear. I am not sure if you are Muslim or if you wear hijab, but if you like the abaya you can use this. It is lose and they have tons of colors, sizes, and designs. I love www.desertstore.com and this website has nice things you can measure yourself to get a good size, but they are in Saudi. Also, have you been to a mosque that has a small clothing section, big companies donate clothing and sisters with things they can not wear and you can donate money and get a few items. IF you go to islamfinder.com you can also search for a retailer that is Muslim in your neighborhood. I found a Muslim beauty shop in mine and they have a screen the put so that the men that are getting services can not see or both you. I was shocked that we had such things.

My personal favorite is clothing from Jordon, Al Karem is a great brand good quality and they have very designer looking clothing. When I wear them people are like where did you get this and I would wear that comments. Anyway, good luck shopping and now I want to go look for EID clothing. Are you in to the scarves? I learn some cute designs from some sister in Philly. I wonder does anybody have any cute ones to share.

Wow I went to that www... I think VP had posted that www on another thread...very fancy dresses...I am not sure if it in my *taste* but still so very fine and the prices are very cheap in dollars :thumbs:
