CFO Nightmare

My Fiancee went for her CFO interview (early still waiting for interview but she went and did it anyway) and she said they did not believe her when she told the person interviewing her that our love was geniune. She brought in all our emails, pictures, and other documents as requested but they still told her they did not believe her.

They told her they wanted her to prove that our relationship was geniune and they wanted her to tell me that I did not love her and that our relationship was not real because they wanted to see my response and asked her to bring in IM chat she had with me to see how I responded.

Of course this upset me greatly and the more I tried to ask her what was going on the more she tried to upset me. Then she told me I did not understand just to respond to her questions.

Today she went back and showed them the transcripts and they said she passed.

Is this normal for them to do this.

I was pissed........

Congratulations on your recent NOA2.

Consider re-posting your Philippine-specific inquiry at the Philippines regional forum.

Good luck on your visa journey.

There is much information on the nightmares that people go through at the CFO on this site. However, this is new to me. I haven't heard of them giving such a phoney BS interrogation to the point of manipulating the relationship. Glad it all worked out for you, but I would be pissed too! I know they have the authority to ask for whatever documents they want, and that is what usually trips people up. This kind of manipulation has to be unlawful though. I dread my fiancee having to go through this as well, but just ignore it and move on knowing it is over. This kind of behavior is the result of envious power mongers. That is the only rational conclusion I can come up with. Which facility did your fiancee attend the CFO? I am trying to weigh the options here.

Dear Sir, Maam

I am writing to you in regards to a CFO interview was conducted on May 14th, 2012 (Manila) and why the following was done

Name of Interviewee xxxxxx resides at xxxxxxxx

On May 15th, 2012 my fiancee explained to me that she had to bring in her IM's in regards to some responses she made at the CFO interview. She stated that the Interviewer did not believe some of her responses and wanted to make sure she was not in an abusive or false relationship. I am wondering if this is indeed true, why such measures were taking.

I would also like to express the displeasure if this was indeed true (as she stated) happenned of the emotional and taxing results this had on me let alone of the embarrassment it has caused me at work. Due in part I had to go back to work and explain to them that it was not a joke being played on me by my fiancée.

Since she has proof she attend on May 14th and again on May 15th I would have to tend to believe that the events happenned the way she stated.

I find this upsetting and would like to know if this is an accepted practice at these Interviews.

Sincerely,

xxxxxxx

That was my letter sent to the CFO email address.

I was very upset and found this very unsettling.

Which CFO was this in Manila???

asawa ko, and her family and friends have NEVER EVER heard of this in over 5 years. This is something new, or maybe a probe from friends, parents, or relatives. Not discounting this could be from one of the CFO locations, but we have been hearing some wild stories lately including asking for parents driver's licenses. the problem is they have the grounds to ask for anything they want to. Something in your fiance's attitude or the counselor just having a bad day, or a combination made it the perfect storm for you. I hope the rest of the journey goes well. I wish you the best on the rest of the journey. Keep up the faith. Soon she will be here. You are on the downward side of things now.

We are 15 years apart to the question above

I was so pissed off that I was going to cancel the K1 but I waited until this morning to cool down. I again asked her if this was a joke on her part and she stated they wanted to see how I was going to respond.

I asked her if she asked the person if they were serious and her response was you want me play stupid game with him. He will not be happy with this. It might upset him.

She stands by what she told me. I do not know if she misunderstood what they were asking for or if she thought they were asking her to see how I would respond

Never under-estimate the ability of people in small positions (CFO) to exert control over the masses.

Think Security Guard that could not get on with the military or police department. Happens all of the

time in the USA.

As someone else stated,,, don't waste your time,,, and move on, most likely you will never be able to

fix any inherent problems in the Philippines.

Focus on your fiancee. Our immigration system is not much better. I have heard some nasty stuff come

out of the consulate as well.

Everything worth having,,, is worth working for,,, and sometimes just shaking your head and turning the

other cheek is the best response. It will be a distant memory in a few months.

Regards,

dc

I had my CFO seminar May 11, 2012 they were not very friendly there (I went to CFO in Aurora Boulevard the convent there). At the reception they ask for 2 ID's (I am still waiting for my visa) then they instruct me to photocopy my ID's. Then I went back at the reception and paid for my counselling after they gave me a form to fill-out. At 1:30 pm the seminar and counselling started (the counselling is their interview about your relationship and some personal questions that I didn't mind them answering because I know they're just doing their job).
