No one can really answer this for you. Sometimes the mail takes longer than it should. Keep an eye out for it and call back if you don't get it.

No no no do NOT take that excuse. That's exactly what they did to me and then when I called back after 30 days they said to just file a duplicate form request (which costs $485 by the way and takes up to 3 months to receive!).

I contacted my congressman after all of this and this was the CSC Congressional Liason's reply:

Generally speaking, we will provide a duplicate approval notice to the petitioner if the request is made within 30 days of the approval. Our electronic records indicate that the petitioner first contacted us in late March, more than 60 days after the approval of the petition. Therefore, she was advised to file Form I-824 with fee and request a duplicate approval notice.

Of course the only reason I waited was because they told me to wait at least 30 days on the first phone call. And of course I contacted them in January but their electronic records conveniently did not show that. I'd call them back and demand a copy (at least get a service request in) before your 30 days are up!

When I responded to you in your other thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/367041-frustrated-still-waiting-on-noa2-hardcopy/page__view__findpost__p__5363323, I highlighted the part where it reads call if "It has been more than 30 days and you have not received a receipt". This was yesterday, and you said it had been 22 days. What did you expect? I can understand the frustration and anxiety, but this is how it is sometimes. This is not considered abnormal hence why USCIS posted this on their "Contact Us" page. Wait the course of 30 days, then start getting aggressive if need be.

Yah, i saw your response but i figured to just call them instead of waiting for few more days hoping i'll get a straight answer. And if you will read the other response above ---- that's the last thing i would want to happen. Get a duplicate and pay again?

Yeah, no doubt, but they aren't going to make a priority out of it before that 30 days. As far as paying for a duplicate, that is highly unnecessary when it was lost or never arrived. That would be the time to speak to a higher up or supervisor whom isn't giving scripted directives. Possibly the time for a congressman to get involved as well. I certainly wouldn't pay hundreds more to get a "duplicate" of something I never received.
