Haven't receive a yellow letter...... Is that suppose to come before interview appointment letter?

It had arrived about five days before IL came. But, as far as I am concerned, a substantially larger number of applicants never sees a yellow letter.

I do agree that someone messed up this list, however..... to correct it I think that if you discover that your name and timeline is missing, please list it and ask someone to update to the last posted list.

My interview was today @ 11am at Holtsville office. I arrived at 10:30am and the desk clerks accepted my interview letter. My name was called at 11am, followed the IO to his office; and 5 mins later the interview was over. He asked 6 random questions:

1. What is an amendment?

2. How many amendments does the Constitution have?

3. What did the declaration of Independence do?

4. If both the President and Vice-president can no longer serve, who becomes President?

5. What does the President's cabinet do?

6. Name one branch or part of the government?

I was also asked to read and write.... The IO told me that I passed and asked if I wanted to wait for the Oath ceremony letter; I told him yes. After couple hours of waiting I had to leave. I did ask the desk clerks what would happen if I leave b4 my oath letter was ready; they told me that it is ok to do so; and they will mail it to me. The dates that I overheard others getting was around the 2nd week in October.

My husband's Atlanta interview/oath experience today:

His appointment was at 8:15 a.m. The letter said not to arrive any more than 30 minutes beforehand. We went in to the building at 7:45 a.m. and into a registration window where they told us to go to the 2nd floor. His number was Q19. After five minutes, the next officer came out and called Q11. Wow. They were on time. That is good if you get the early appointments. By 8:20 a.m. (5 minutes after his appointment time) they called his number. The officer said to go up to the 3rd floor, he would get Keith's file and meet us up there. It took him about 8-10 minutes to come up and get my husband.

My husband said the officer was nice and didn't even administer oath to tell the truth (hmmmm). The officer immediately asked him the six questions which my husband answered and then the officer told him he passed. After that is when he read and wrote his sentence. The officer said my husband's file was very straight-forward with nothing to slow down the process with asking any further questions and they even joked a minute or two. The officer checked the boxes on the form fast and said he appreciated how fast and easy it was and how he wished everyone's could be that fast. He then told my husband since we drove 5-1/2 hours from Alabama that he could have his oath ceremony that afternoon.

We did, it was great, and my husband is now an American!! Now just to change driver's license, social security card, and get a U.S. Passport.

For those of you who receive your interview letter already, how long did it take for you to receive it in the mail after your status changed online to, you've been schedule for an interview?

I received the text on Jul 3rd and my letter arrived on Jul 12th, so 8 days (but there was a holiday in there). My oath letter came in just 4 days - I suppose that's about right for standard first class mail.

Thanks, I was just wondering, because my status change this Monday the 10th and I haven't receive anything not even the yellow letter some people receive before interview letter

My husband's Atlanta interview/oath experience today:

His appointment was at 8:15 a.m. The letter said not to arrive any more than 30 minutes beforehand. We went in to the building at 7:45 a.m. and into a registration window where they told us to go to the 2nd floor. His number was Q19. After five minutes, the next officer came out and called Q11. Wow. They were on time. That is good if you get the early appointments. By 8:20 a.m. (5 minutes after his appointment time) they called his number. The officer said to go up to the 3rd floor, he would get Keith's file and meet us up there. It took him about 8-10 minutes to come up and get my husband.

My husband said the officer was nice and didn't even administer oath to tell the truth (hmmmm). The officer immediately asked him the six questions which my husband answered and then the officer told him he passed. After that is when he read and wrote his sentence. The officer said my husband's file was very straight-forward with nothing to slow down the process with asking any further questions and they even joked a minute or two. The officer checked the boxes on the form fast and said he appreciated how fast and easy it was and how he wished everyone's could be that fast. He then told my husband since we drove 5-1/2 hours from Alabama that he could have his oath ceremony that afternoon.

We did, it was great, and my husband is now an American!! Now just to change driver's license, social security card, and get a U.S. Passport.

Thanks for posting your ATL experience, Shari. I applied at the end of June - straightforward case. I've been in the queue for IL since July 30th, patiently awaiting IL. I live near enough that I don't expect a same-day oath but an acquaintance of mine lives about 4 hours away so I hope she gets same day oath (her interview is on the 25th). She applied the same time as me - but hers has a military connection so that might speed things up.

Hoping when my turn comes up it's easy like that Been here for 12+ years now and English is my first language so hoping for a smooth process. Congrats to your husband!

Thanks! The lady that held the oath ceremony told us that usually they have 10 people a day in the oath ceremony (which I thought was quite a small amount since it was Atlanta and they have plenty of seats in the ceremony room) but that on 9/11 they had 35. I told my husband to make sure he asked during his interview if he could have his ceremony the same day since we drove so far but I guess that is something they always do so the officer told Keith before Keith even asked about it.

I think we had been in line since July 17th and then got the appointment letter on August 11th, exactly one month before the interview date, so you may be receiving your letter any day I would suspect. My husband was here nearly 7 years before he applied so didn't have to bring all the marriage-based information either. Good luck!
