And yeah, it's true. Whoever opens it must be completely blind as "Do Not Open" is written ALL over the package.

Called NVC a while ago. Our AOS packages have been accepted (YEY!! :D :D :D ), but they sent out a checklist for the IV package which we sent together with the AOS. Does NVC send e-mails over the weekend?

USCIS

Grats on the AOS acceptance!

I'm guessing that checklist is just a false one since they reviewed your AOS package. NVC does NOT look and see if the other package is in the building or not.

If they generated the email today, then it's possible to receive it over the weekend. An example: my interview date was scheduled on a Friday afternoon and we received the email Saturday morning at 6am.

Here's pictures of my package if you want to see: http://journeythroug...a-received.html

Saylin, I know I'm dealing with a different Consulate (not Canada) but after looking at your site where you posted your pics of the package, etc ... I noticed the tracking process might be very similar for our visa. You mentioned a CSC site which we were also directed to sign up for on the interview letter, and we already did. Once I log in though, I do see a "Reference ID Number" already created in there for us.

Is this the same number I will eventually use once our package has been shipped? and Do you track the package on the regular DHL site? or is it on a special one?

Thanks!

Oh, if Columbia uses the CSC site (or something similar), then the process is probably going to be similar. Yes, that reference number is what you'll use on DHL's site (if the courier is DHL). Once the passport/visa is sent out, you can track it through the reference number or use the waybill number that gets generated from that reference number once the passport is sent out.

Thanks! I'm SO relieved! I was really doubting if my husband's financial evidence was enough. Anyway, I'm excited to receive the checklist to see what it looks like. LOL]

But too bad for us, our IV packages have to wait until next Tuesday to be reviewed. Long weekend for us, still.

Yes - Colombia uses the CSC site and DHL as well so it seems all pretty straight forward. I guess once we are done with interview, I can still using the reference number as a tracking number on the DHL site. Thanks! ... 96 Hours! Woohoo!!

There's a stamp on one side that says "do not open", they've taped the seam and ink stamped it twice (and signed the stamps), and then on the other side they've got a big white piece of paper that says "do not open." Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and leave it alone

Yeah, if Columbia uses both the CSC site and DHL, then you should go through the same thing I did (and other fellow Canadians).

Interview is approaching quickly!!

I'm guessing that's the reason. But you would think with all the sealed tape, they'd think maybe it wasn't meant to be open by them headbonk.gif

Friday is known as a blessing day for this process. Most of my approval came a friday...lol, Both IV and AOS that were sent separately were accepted a friday ( Case complete ). So, if no checklist, there are chances you got your case complete today

these really weren't 'approvals'.

In the end, all is adjudicated at the IV Unit, prior to the interview date at the IV Unit, and a decision is shared at the end of the interview.

NVC Processing is simply document intake for an immigrant visa,

and there are gross checks to review for completeness and income thresh-holds and that's it.

Please, try not to use the word 'approval' when talking of NVC document intake in the future, yes?

Nothing was approved, alas. It's still on the IV unit to make that determination, to 'approve the visa' .

You'll know more in the last 30 seconds of the interview, about that 'approval' status.

Good Luck and stuff !
