k-1 Fiance Letter of Intent Question

So I am fileing an I-129F to sponser my fiance from Brazil. The Fiance letter of intent that he signed contains an additional address of the Sao Paulo Embassy (which is wrong), can I cross out the address? Will that cause a problem?

If it would cause a problem with approval, can my fiance send me a scanned letter of intent?

Thanks!

J

I would think Yes. It will cause a problem. The Letters of Intent should be Original and not Alterated. I think a scanned copy is fine but needs a Signature in Ink. Just my thought.

The understanding is: A K-1 is a promise and USCIS avoids/denies Copies that clearly state: Signed Only in Ink.

If it was me I would not worry about the address being wrong and I would definitely not cross it out. It is most important that you send the Letter of Intent with an original signature. Do not send a scanned copy.

The content of the letter is what is scrutinized and the address is secondary. Besides you will be submitting a second Letter of Intent immediately before your interview date. You can address that letter correctly.

Best of Luck!

No problem. You are sending it to USCIS you don't need an address at all. The only thing that matters is that he intends to marry you within 90 days of arrival. He could write it on a cocktail napkin and address it to Santa Clause at the north pole. AND that he signs it.
