Wow! A lot of applicants this month. Either VJ is rightly becoming more widely known or spring is definitely the season of love (aka seeking love from the American govt)

Wow! Well if most people apply for AOS immediately after getting married, and summer is wedding season, that would explain the large amount of applicants :)

Ahh.. Summer of love.. And USCIS papers..

Number from the check or NOA1 does not work.

You need to wait for a biometrics appointment letter.

It will have a different EAC/WAC number and that number should work on USCIS website.

I think I understand what you are saying. But I didn't even have my NOA1 yet. Do you know why some of us (like you) get their NOA within few days of application submittal while some (like me) haven't recieved anything after 3 weeks? Does it have to do with when in your 3 month window application is put in? I sent mine right at the begining of that window.

6/22/12- Early bio done, received 551 stamp

6/25/12- NOA received dated 6/21

May I be added to the list?

I sent the packet May 16th and it arrived on May 18th. My check wasn't cashed until yesterday (5/31) morning and I also received my NOA yesterday. It's dated May 21, 2012. I'm so happy it's here because I waited too long to file, and I was beginning to worry. My green card expires on Tuesday (June 5th!). :)

I'm not sure what is going on at CSC. They got our package on 5/16 but they still have not cashed the check.

You're next on the CSC list. I sent a cashier's check so it cleared once I got the check lol but no way to know. I actually was fairly excited thinking that CSC was moving quickly on these but we seem to have hit a snag and slight delay. It'll happen, just have to wait it out. Keep us posted...

That does bring up a question. What if the GC expires before the NOA1 is processed even though the papers were sent in plenty of time? I will be pissed as hell if the petition is denied because of CSC's delay.

I called NVC not about an expiration or possibility of the expiration but about another matter. Basically NVC said they wouldn't look into the matter unless 30 days from filing the petition has passed without any word. Those with GCs expiring in the next two weeks may wish to call NVC but it sounds like people waited and filed 30 days before the expiration of the green card. Chances are you'll hear soon about the petition and likely before the expiration of the card. But if it's getting close I'd call NVC and make sure you have a paper trail of filing/mailing etc. NOAs and the extensions should not take two months; it seems several weeks have been noted on here.

I doubt it has anything to do with the window unless they received it outside of the 90 day rule. I sent the package May 14 and the 90 day began May 15th but it arrived May 16th so it's within that 90 days. Most of us want to give them as much time as possible to get this done prior to the card's expiration. We just need to be patient; do you remember all the waiting and freaking out during the I 130 etc? So hopefully California gets moving; Vermont is cruising along nicely it seems.

I woke up this morning in a panic about whether or not I signed the actual form. My husband, who is the immigrant, did sign for sure but we can't remember if I did in all of the process of putting the packet together. I'm quite worried about that, especially since CSC is taking forever to get back to any of us. Does anyone know what happens if the spouse forgets to sign? Do they just send everything back to you and, if so, how long does that take? I feel like a total idiot if I did forget to sign it.

Hi Vanessa, if you didn't sign your form, they will most likely send you an RFE requesting a signed form.

It happened to one of my friends when she mailed her ROC in January... she didn't have to send all the evidence again, just the signed form. :)

Thank you! That is good news, indeed!

Do you know if they send the RFE prior to the NOA and cashing the check? It would make sense to me if they do but I'm just looking for any sign that they're actually looking at our paperwork since they've had it 17 days now and nothing.
